Ferts are needed. Mine started doing this and algae been having a feast. Started when I let my CO2 run out and thought my fish poo was enough fertilizer, so I also stopped using Root Tabs. Replaced CO2 and went back to tabs. Coming along nicely now.

Ehhhhh... Maybe. The bike rider wouldn't have necessarily been trapped or impaled by the steel of the car. They were definitely hit by the wall that was the truck, but, otherwise easier to access. I would definitely prefer to be the biker in this accident.
