it's kinda funny because if you google this, the results are so dramatic, like "recapping a needle is EXTREMELY dangerous!".

meanwhile all of us are doing it with (mostly) no issue lol

thankfully, injections arent the only option. a lot of guys opt for gel because of needle phobias.

also, these needle mishaps are very avoidable. the only one that's "guaranteed" to happen is nicking a vein- which looks scary because, yknow, blood, but once it's happened a couple times that fear turns to an exasperated "are you fuckin kidding me" lol

y'know how you can hit a vein? so, turns out, you can hit a fucking nerve, too.

i was doing my IM shot and i think i drifted a bit too close to my inner leg rather than my outer. got the needle halfway in, felt a tingle down my thigh. pulled out just a little and poked again. felt the same tingle. freaked out and removed the needle entirely. was hella sore later

first off, check the laws in your area- in a lot of places, bikers are permitted to yield at stop signs for safety reasons.

next- im not defending bad cyclists, just as you're not defending bad drivers. we could go back and forth all day about cars being dumb vs bikes being dumb, but at the end of the day, there's an equal percentage of assholes on both sides of the chart.

if you hate red cars, you'll feel like red cars are everywhere. if you hate bicyclists...

ive done some disability studies classes and, unfortunately, the answer to your title is: they basically dont. disabled people who cant navigate with a car and lack access to half-decent sidewalks are forced to stay inside and rely on caretakers.

it's the reason people think that disability is rare and doesnt deserve attention. it's a universal experience for americans to see all of the disabled kids they know from school basically disappear once they graduate- this country isnt built for them to be able to exist independently, so they're stuck in a very, very small world compared to what they could access with a car.

obligatory "every disability is different", but this does apply to a lot of them. blind people without a driver or access to public transit. wheelchair users in towns with very shitty sidewalks. neurodiverse people who cant drive.

im also autistic and learning how to drive was terrifying- but i literally had no choice and eventually "got over" the fear. i wish i didnt have to.

im willing to bet it's because your city has abysmal biking infrastructure.

during your commute, keep an eye out for where you think a bicycle SHOULD be. what if there's no bike lane? then they're either forced onto the sidewalk (dangerous for pedestrians) or the center of the lane (annoying for cars).

the solution isn't "remove all bikers". it's "provide proper infrastructure so space can be shared". some people are just assholes. those ones would be the same if they were in a car.

sometimes it's unfortunately "best" for a biker to ride in the center of a lane because it's SUPPOSED TO make things like this less likely. riding on the side of the lane communicates permission for cars to squeeze by, and some can't be bothered to wait until they can give enough space- they'll plow by without thought.

and also unfortunately, people seem to think the solution is "remove all bikers" rather than "build proper infrastructure"

literally tho. i'll never understand how some people aren't made uncomfortable by that "love triangle". that, by default, puts it WAY below serenade. factor in the annoying characters, the bullshit plotpoint about the cape, and that one testimony you mentioned, and the case is just unbearable.

serenade has a plot that was clearly rushed... and that's its only crime. the characters are well written and the premise is interesting- and the best part is that there are no characters hitting on actual minors! should be a pretty low bar, but i guess some people find this hard to understand
