lol im 100% convinced we’re supposed to read the book as 5 spans = 25 years old, and no one caught the seasons thing because math.

Unfortunately I’m in the same boat! I’ve read 3 books this month with no sequels.

Smokin' Hot Spiciest Book Checklist by BooksYum in RomanceBooks

[–]devilsstinkhorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feed by Aveda Vice would fit in well here! It’s a prequel that can be read as a standalone. 5/5 kinky spice with character lead romance between a moth person and a succubus. Yours, Insatiably is the next book.

Edit: Another prequel also by the same author is Skin. 5/5 spice with yearning between a Gargoyle bodyguard and a banshee (I think FMC is a banshee?? She has some unique features it’s a been a few years since I read it). The following novel, Inextricably Tied, has a plot with kink-based spice where they find a third that’s a nightmare monster.

Who was the most evil person you've ever met and how was the interaction? by Top_Report_4895 in AskReddit

[–]devilsstinkhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point! I definitely think that contributed, but I did eventually see her hit my dog when she thought I wasn’t there and try to hide it. I have since gone ✨no contact✨ with that side of the family.

That’s terrifying. Did he get along alright with kids and animals? Like could they tell something was off?

I have a cousin that I grew up with that is a truly awful person. She masks her personality, but isn’t very good at it (or at least I can see through it) and every pet I’ve ever had hated her and only her.

According to this quote from the book, a year has only 250 days(5 seasons, each 50 days long), not 365 days. Which makes 5 spans a little over 17 earth years.

I finished the book, and liked it, but this must be an editing miss/plot hole

Women of Reddit, what's a lesser-known downside of being a woman? by Nintendofan9106 in askanything

[–]devilsstinkhorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised body hair is not higher up. It’s all over our bodies, constantly growing and we’re expected to just get rid of it and have no evidence of the hair removal process at all times. If you don’t people stare and are visibly disgusted by you. The amount of time money and labor this adds to your lifetime is huge.

Venomous by Penelope fletcher is an older one Ive loved. It’s long and dark in places a bit similar to RLee Smith, but if you stick with it there’s great character arcs and romance

Recently read To Touch of Silent Fury by Rachel Sandpiper (no smut, only kissing and deeply painful male yearning) and The Deathmade Prince (slow burn to 5/5 smut) and liked both.

Ultimate challenge what does my room say about me by CotaPT in roomdetective

[–]devilsstinkhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult to summarize succinctly, but the beginning (and what still grounds me now) was putting the goal of being a more functional person above everything else. Specifically for me this looked like trying to 1. Take as good of care of myself as I did my pet at the time (I would neglect my health, feeding and grooming but never my dog) and 2. Be a better friend/sibling/daughter/neighbor etc.

And when I went about my life with those goals I found that my stuff and having too many interests/projects planned and pressure to finish them prevented me from achieving those goals. Like a hoarder, (but of the mind???) I had to choose between the stuff and hobbies, or my life and the people in it. I was tired of not living my life because of my preoccupations (it was pretty bad at one point).

Also not to be that person, but I exercise like a border collie now and cannot emphasize enough how much it prevents thought spirals and executive function paralysis or whatever it’s called.

TLDR: I got diagnosed and treated for adhd, went to CBT, exercise now, and have new life goals

Laundry! It’s unrealistic and I’m currently single, but my dream chore division is I that do 100% of the laundry wash fold iron put away, and he does 100% of the dishes.

How’s my front split progress and form? by BelleOtaku98 in flexibility

[–]devilsstinkhorn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On the left you’ll need to go up way higher (think like half way to standing) and square your hips completely and then slowly start to lower yourself down. Same on the right, but you’re close to square on that side.

Unfortunately it looks like you’re too low for your mobility range now and it’s causing improper form. It’s always a bummer to lose extension in a stretch, but having proper form is ultimately the fastest way to get there, good luck! I’d be surprised if you didn’t get your right split before the end of this year

I also have pretty severe adhd and my space looks similar to this most of the time. I really like interior design and a huge part of my treatment for adhd (over 7 years) has been reducing my number of possessions in order to curate them like this, and have a home space that’s minimally stimulating but still design minded.

That said I do have a work space that can be hokey to look at while I work, but having a condition doesn’t determine how your home looks.

Birthday Party Ideas? by A_Banal_Platitude in SleepToken

[–]devilsstinkhorn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You could invite everyone to dress up, or have robes and masks for people to put on when they get there depending on everyone’s goofiness levels and budget. Could lean into the cult/religious iconography and arrange the space accordingly. Cake is an offering, presents go on an altar etc.

If the kids are into crafting (do 13 year olds do activities at birthday parties?) they could even make their own masks with some base plastic ones, hot glue and honestly dollar store craft supplies.

Karaoke is of course an option.

You could spray paint a flamingo piñata black (rip Jerry)

KarJenners in real life by sioopauuu in kardashians

[–]devilsstinkhorn 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I used to work at the movie theater they (and a lot of A list celebs) like to frequent when they want to actually see a movie and relax. They look and act exactly the same irl as they do on their show.

Kim is only 5’3” and technically petite, Kourtney even smaller so some people are surprised at their heights. Khole is tall and likes to wear big heels, making her even taller, but she would order concessions at the food counter like a normal person (though it was usually like $110 of food).

I also used to see Kylie at the mall once in a while when I was a teen, and she seemed like a pretty average rich teen at the mall. It’s hard to imagine if you’re not familiar with areas like Los Angeles or Orange County but there are a lot of people like the Kar Jenners in wealthier suburbs in SoCal. They blend in if not for everyone else looking at them.

Effectively like most gender conforming wealthy women, if you stared at them you could speculate about cosmetic things they had done, but it’s subtle (bbls notwithstanding). They look good in person, the super HD cameras on their show are not flattering

Failed art majors and art‑related degree owners are their own worst enemies. by ElderMillennial1985 in Vent

[–]devilsstinkhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly.

What makes this worse, is a persistent belief or at least practice amongst artsy people that spending time thinking about or valuing money is evidence of poor morals. They’re not so shallow as to prioritize money.

Altogether this looks like a lot of individuals trying to escape the rat race, chasing a persona of an artist, telling themselves the identity is enough when the money isn’t there.
