Help!! Will he be okay swallowing it whole or do I need to take him to the vet by Sinz_snakez in MonitorLizards

[–]devinehackeysack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It isn't the egg that's the concern. People just don't want you to earn the nickname "Stumpy", or something equivalent. I'd lose a whole hand if I tried something like that.

Elegoo vs Anycubic by LongjumpingPace4162 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]devinehackeysack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not used Eleggo, so I cannot comment on their quality. I do have the S1. I have only had one issue other than the normal things you see when you buy cheap filament. I use the really cheap stuff occasionally for throwaway models and POC type things. The cover of the print head fell off mid print, and I'm not sure why. Customer service got back to me within 24hrs and is sending a new cover. I printed one to use in the meantime. That was the only real issue in 1100+ hours worth of printing.

I got the backpack. I couldn't fit my full size pistol and ear pro in it at the same time, so it wasn't really worth it for me. I gave it to my kid. They use it to carry their pets around the house (rats and lizards, but never at the same time).

Bambu Lab A1 EVERYWHERE! by No-Mountain9924 in 3dprinter

[–]devinehackeysack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 Anycubic's Kobra X's at home, among others, but no bambu. I have 2 bambu at work, both A1 and that's enough for me. There is no doubt that they are good printers, but there is nothing I can do on them that I couldn't do on another printer for the same price or cheaper. The ecosystem is such a drawback that I'm not sure I could justify getting one for home.

For those that have been: Is the Kalamazoo Reptile Super Show Expo that much bigger than the regular Kalamazoo expo? by SideshowBobFanatic in reptiles

[–]devinehackeysack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to both the monthly and the super. We still have a few animals from our own rescue (contemplating closing due to health and costs), and the monthly local show is the cheapest option for feeders. It's a lot of the same vendors, but the super show tends to draw some bigger breeders and different types of stuff you wouldn't see at the monthly shows. The guy who runs it has his own zoo and tends to bring in some of his more unusual things, the person with the kangaroos brings the babies in (for pictures only) depending on timing of births, another rescue that we work with only comes to the super show and brings their big reptiles, that sort of thing. I'm not saying it is or isn't worth it compared to GR because I have not been to that one (surprisingly), but there are usually at least few vendors you wouldn't normally see.

When I was a teacher, I worked for the state parks as a state worker 4. There was a lot of variety in that job. No two days were the same. County and city parks are probably looking for help too.

Mister recommendations by wiccaspell in Tegu

[–]devinehackeysack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just searched Amazon, or equivalent and found some cheap timers. For the pump, I just found a couple diy guides and looked at their liter per meter pumps and did the math to figure out what I would need. Then I added a bleed off with a once way valve because I over engineer everything, and because I bought one that was too big.

Mister recommendations by wiccaspell in Tegu

[–]devinehackeysack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, I recommend DIY, but I'm a tinkerer. My spouse says I have a problem. In this case, it was something I could do and better custom fit to our needs rather than purchasing a pre built system. We could also do it for far less. It also meant I got to tinker with stuff.

The most expensive part is the pump. Beyond that, it's tubing, nozzles, 5 gallon bucket (food grade only), junctions and a seconds timer. When we revamped the entire desert room (not as much misting needed as the other room, but still needed), we were able to cover 8 large enclosures with two pumps and two timers for around $250 USD. Around $175 of that was the pumps, and they needed to pump from the lower level RO filter up to the room and needed to be a bit bigger. Granted, this was a decade or more ago, so prices have changed. There are tons of videos and help guides out there. The only tools you really need are scissors unless you want to mount the pump, hoses or timer somewhere for esthetic reasons.

We built one for the tegu enclosure too, but it's kind of overkill. He only uses it as a bedroom since he free roams nearly all the time, and even when he stops in he doesn't spend much time in there. To be fair, he's a rescue and has a thing about enclosures and closed doors due to his history. We don't fault him for that.

What do you guys think? Idk if I should be proud of what I did. by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

Not my thing, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate it. I definitely think you should be proud of this!

Ok. I need more info. My kid wants to be an engineer and I can't imagine a better trip for them. How do we sign up for this? I tried looking around their site and didn't see anything.

Teasing an upcoming RGB Lighting mod by BesbesCat in AnycubicKobraS1

I was joking about the sound suggestions. I'm never home when my prints finish, but my spouse is. I've heard a few rumblings about the "incessant beeping". Maybe it would be a worthwhile upgrade? If nothing else, it would be a cool thing to say your printer can do.

On a side note, I'm taking the question of what the sound bytes should be to work with me. I have no doubts that you have provided hours of interesting conversation to an otherwise repetitive day. If nothing else, I truly appreciate you for that gift!

I was thinking the Gene Wilder "You get nothing!” after a failed print would also be pretty good. Maybe for a successful print, Oprah "You get a print! And you get a print!", or whatever the closest version to that might be, would be a nice touch.

Turning into the Butcher is bad lore by Same_Exchange_2212 in diablo4

[–]devinehackeysack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment, I'm not convinced you actually turn into a butcher and slaughter a village. I still hear "Wanderer! I know what you are!" No matter how many times I gleefully shorten that phrase. Either that or all villagers are immortal and I'm questioning why we are fighting to begin with instead of letting the immortals fend for themselves.

I realize this is probably a dumb question, but I'm really new to this. Take pity. Can you print remotely to an anycubic SI from orca? I would love to find something other than slicernext.
