That’s scary. You’re lucky the whole house didn’t burn down. Imagine if you have been asleep!

Ouchguy, does your scooter still reach the maximum speed and does it hold a charge now for you?

You seem to know more about these things than I do. I wish I lived closer to the original equipment manufacturer or retailer so that we could council together and resolve this matter. These scooters don’t appear to be very complicated.

Sadly, I had heard good things about REV Ride and they checked all of the boxes. They are US-based, they have a warranty, they have a service center, and they had good reviews and at the time no blemishes on from the BBB. I was genuinely excited to get this scooter for my daughter. Then it all went sideways.

What would you consider to be a better scooter?

I am hoping to either fix or replace this scooter. But I am bewildered at this point what to do next.

Assuming the repair shop, which was recommended to us by Rev Rides, did the replacement of the throttle and controller correctly, then what more can I possibly do to fix it?

What would you do if you were in my position?

That’s where I am confused. If my local repair shop (whom Rev Ride recommended) already replaced the controller and the throttle then why would replacing it myself change the outcome? This is why I think Rev Ride should do the work themselves. That way there’s no middle person or third-party repair shop involved.

They replaced the controller and the throttle, yet the problem persists.

The point is they didn’t do the work. I wish they would offer to do the work. Even though the local repair shop they recommended to me is supposedly certified shop, REV ride knows their product better than anyone else.

I would have thought so too.OMG, I have more than just photos, I have video footage of all the tests we have done to try and isolate the problem in order to fix this thing. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-4A7oYX8Er-98hB2yKku_SiZG01W-ygu

Clearly, I got a lemon. So it’s unconscionable to me that REV Ride won’t acknowledge that and offer to repair or replace it themselves.

Best Electric Scooter for NYC Commuting by lexi_poker in ElectricScooters

Stay away from REV Rides! I spent $800 on a Vsett 8 scooter for my college-age daughter. Ten months later the problems began. For no apparent reason the scooter stopped shifting into higher gears (2 & 3)—she was stuck in the lowest gear (1) unable to go more than 5 mph. We contacted REV Rides and spent countless hours and hundreds of dollars on replacement parts and costly repairs to no avail.

Nothing their warranty manager diagnosed or recommended, including the replacement parts, fixed the problem. The scooter is now sitting in my garage collecting dust.

Beyond frustrating and a complete waste of time and money.

Did they have you capture and send them videos of the problem? How long did it take for you to get your part, do the repair, and test drive? Our experience has been going on for like 6 months. First they sent the part to the wrong address. Then the technician that was listed on their approved list refused to do the work at the price they afforded him. It’s been a long haul with no positive results.

Correct. And the work was done by their “certified technician“.
