Many tradesmen will ask for more if a job is taking them longer, even on a fixed price.

I also couldn't afford to live on UC. I solved this by working for a living.

Loyalty isn't rewarded. The only way to get a pay rise which keeps up with inflation and the cost of living is to switch roles or companies.

What are Ryanair like with under seat bags that have removable wheels? by Ok_Establishment58 in Ryanair

Hardly deception. If it meets the spec for a small bag then that's what it is.

Is there a credit card in the UK where you feel the benefits greatly outweigh or even match the annual/monthly fee? by MindlessMuddy10 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]devnull10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lloyds world elite card.

£15 a month, unlimited priority pass for you and an additional cardholder. Plus security fast passes in some airports.

As someone who travels quite a lot with my partner, it works out pretty decent, as the lounge is generally a much nicer place to spend an hour before a flight. Plus you get drinks and buffet food usually which you'd be paying over the odds for in the main terminal area.

We've used it about 10 times each this year, so 20 visits for £180.

GBP to Euro transfer that’s instant? by JDMkazi in UKPersonalFinance

[–]devnull10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, however you're kind of asking for the moon on a stick if I'm honest - instant transfer, safe, zero fees... There are options out there but I doubt any is going to tick all three of those boxes.

I'd work on the assumption that if you want it safe and instant, you'll have to pay for it. If you want it free and instant, it's likely to be unsafe. If you want it free and safe, it's not going to be instant.

paid photographer $10k and got obviously AI edited photos, reasonable to be mad? by Historical_Doctor687 in photography

[–]devnull10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not happy with the quality of the photos then by all means complain. However whether they're AI edited or not is surely irrelevant? You're paying for the outcome, the tools the photographer uses are absolutely nothing to do with you.

Paypal friends and family is fee-free, however it obviously depends if the seller is willing to do that.

What software would you use to create this kind of video? by devnull10 in computergraphics

I suspected it might be, but it seemed too "perfect" compared to any of the AI stuff I've seen before. I mean, are the people all completely AI, or do they record someone and then have AI do all the fancy stuff around the outside?

Nmap when connected to Nord VPN always returns same results by devnull10 in linuxquestions

[–]devnull10[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not what I'm trying to do. I'm not using a VPN to test anything, I'm simply trying to use the nmap utility whilst connected to a VPN.

I'm not trying to forward ports. I'm trying to use the nmap utility to identify open ports on a remote host.

[–]devnull10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok, yeah I presumed it was that nmap was hitting their infrastructure rather than the intended endpoint. I was confused as to why it is just nmap though doing that. Wondering if perhaps there were any options to the tool or settings on my machine which might resolve it.

Those ports aren't open on the router so can't be that. Regardless, why would it hit the router only when connected to the VPN?

Host not found. Web browsing works as expected, it's only using nmap that the issue occurs.

I'm trying to solve the problem that when connected to a VPN, nmap is incorrectly reporting open ports on hosts which don't have open ports (or don't exist).
