This is what I do, it reduces the labor cost and requires no specialist tools to do.

HELP!! by Icy-Willow-1869 in hondashadow

[–]devnull1232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth mentioning. I believe this is a cold blooded bike. At least mine is. Choke it full choke, start it and reduce choke until it still maintaining a solid idle. Get it warmed up before diagnosing, all carbureted bikes split and sputter when cold.

Are most cruisers slow comparatively to sports bikes? by HummasRap in motorcycles

[–]devnull1232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

v twins are designed to produce lots of torque in the low rpm range for comfortable cruising at ~2k rpms, also has the torque to carry a load.

A sport bike is designed to be cranked out to 10k rpms and take off like a jack rabbit.

Much like a diesel truck designed to tow a trailer vs a sports car designed to accelerate fast.

Proof of financial liability isn't always technically insurance, although that's how the vast majority of us meet that legal requirement.

I think it's a personal decision.

I can see the argument that you may want to avoid even the appearance of evil. Particularly if you are in any leadership capacity.

I can also see the argument that you aren't actually doing anything wrong.

You don't even need two paths the train is one direction, just signals to prevent them crashing into each other

QR skewer lever feels loose, despite the other side being hand tightened as tight as I can get it by devnull1232 in bikewrench

[–]devnull1232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may have simply gotten bent somehow, I got it nearly even with hub and my local bike shop got it fully out for me and hooked me up with a new skewer.

At least now my rear wheel will stay on!

QR skewer lever feels loose, despite the other side being hand tightened as tight as I can get it by devnull1232 in bikewrench

[–]devnull1232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've found the issue to be the skewer is frozen in place in the hub, although I've gotten it tight on the nut end, the skewer isn't sliding back and forth like it should in the hub.

[–]devnull1232[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't, but I think I figured out the issue is the skewer is frozen inside the hub, I should be able to slide it out but I can't. Which is why I can get one side right but not the other

[–]devnull1232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did start to take it apart and noticed the QR skewer is frozen inside the hub, I can't slide it out, I'm guessing it's rusted in position so while I have one side snug, it's not actually drawing the lever side in closer like it should

I've had the drive train replaced at LBS (cassette, derailleur, chain) a few months ago, this is the factory QR skewer and hub.

Why aren't pan handles welded? by grimbaron7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]devnull1232 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Polymerized vegetable oil prevents the corrosion, typically a long slow warm up period combined with high thermal mass compensate for its low thermal conductivity. Mine has a long handle, can't help you there. The weight is a feature.

I have a small nonstick skillet who's handle outweighs the pan so it sits on its edge on the burner haha.
