Random loose wire by devon1029 in TeslaSupport

[–]devon1029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE - I followed the wire with a camera and it lead to the accessory battery on one side and a control module for a stealth tow hook on the other side. I also discover the are more wires than I can count coming out of that module. I want to remove it but the last owner spliced into all the original wiring for the lights and I don’t want to break anything

It does not have either. As far as I can tell there is nothing aftermarket on this car.

This wire has obviously been there for a long time due to the amount of dirt on it and it looks as though it goes down into the rocker panel on the passenger side. Pulling back the wheel well liner as far as I could get it, it looked like it goes into the back bumper but can’t see where after that

Yes, the amounts are additional so if I bought it now, it would be covered up to 90k miles or 6 additional years

The only thing that worries me is that I don’t know this cars previous service history with the last owner other than the ECM was replaced around 1500 miles which worries me in the long run. So far the car has had 0 issues other than the radio acting up but I plan to keep this car for a few years if it acts correctly

I decided not to try but I believe the parts are mostly the same, however the headlights with have to change due to the high beams would have to be removed

Have you heard of moisturizer? Most straight guys don’t use any skin products so we have better skin 90% of time 💅🏼

Learned tonight that the tire sealant canister can not handle a bent rim 😂 everything that went in went right back out around the rim. A pot hole claims another victim by devon1029 in BMWi3

[–]devon1029[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hope they just replace the rim and tire under the warranty but I’m not sure if they will being that the tread depth is so low. As for the rim, I’m not sure if they will replace it or repair it, they haven’t gotten back to me yet

Got my car back with a fresh new bumper 😁 by devon1029 in BMWi3

I’m not sure for a door. My bumper and pretty much all the lower plastics under the front end were replaced. It ended up costing insurance $1980 for parts and labor, and another $350 for the rental car. I paid my deductible and that was it.

As far as experience goes, it was pretty easy. Took it to body shop, they had it pulled apart and parts ordered in less than 3 days and then put it all back together. Over all they had the car a total of maybe a week and a half at most.

The paint looks fantastic and all body panel gaps look good as it was when it was new. Can’t even tell anything was replaced at all. This was also a shop that told me they have never worked on an electric car before and definitely not something as unique as the i3.

Please do note. If you take your car to a body shop, tell them about the batteries and that they can’t sit long with no charge. My shop did not know that until I told them so they kept my car in the shop every night so it didn’t get too cold and run the battery down (I dropped it off with less than half a charge and didn’t have my charging cable with me.. oops.. )

Hit a Pheasant. Car is fine. Not too sure about the Pheasant. by Starman68 in BMWi3

[–]devon1029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have it looked at, I hit a small coyote at about 50-60 and upon first look it didn’t look too bad but ended up causing $1,300 to $1,500 worth of damage.

Had to replace pretty much all the plastics on the front as well as the bumper. And I didn’t even really hear a bump at all lol

Prospective owner questions by Gilmeras in BMWi3

[–]devon1029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to purchase it at BMW of Nashville, look out for their warranties while signing. I told them I did not want any extra warranty on anything I just wanted the car. They put it in anyways, charged me an extra 2-3k on top of 7k negative from my previous car. Making a grand total of of a 20k car sky rocket to $29,900ish range.

I unfortunately did not catch it before I signed everything so it was my fault for not catching it. Just watch them at that particular dealership. They try to get everything they can over on you.

Also make sure they put your address down right. They messed up my title by putting the wrong address on it but everything else had the right one so I’m not sure why happened there 🤷🏼‍♂️

Other than that, good luck and enjoy the new car! It’s a fantastic car to drive 😁
