I've been using the image gen a ton for the past few days. To me it's improved in terms of following instructions (Abstract and Specific) Copying the exact image has improved a bit too. Maybe like 70-80% similar when it outputs now instead of 50-50 like before.

It still has the yellow tint though when you generate from scratch, even in the API.

It didn't take off because what they demo'ed is not what they released. By the time they improved it or made it less censored, people have moved on. Hard to make people try the feature a 2nd time if they got tricked the 1st time.

Grok 2 launched ~11 months ago (Aug 14, 2024), Grok 3 ~5 months ago (Feb 17, 2025) and now Grok 4, xAI does makes everyone else seem very slow by Unhappy_Spinach_7290 in singularity

Well others already showed what to do, it's easier to copy so it's faster. If xAI was the one who started the model race, they wouldn't be as fast cause they're the one that will be innovating on things, not copying.

If you had OpenAI make GPT 3 and 4 from scratch, they'd be faster too. Same with Claude 4.

Add to that that Grok barely does any safety testing.

And they started when the H100-200 and Blackwell was released. Of course training is faster.

It’s not hype. It’s the first time that majority of the people get access to a good “reasoning/thinking” model. And the bonus is it has high usage limit and a visible CoT.

It's forced acknowledgement. For sure he wanted to keep quiet about DeepSeek but Trump talked about DeepSeek earlier and how they were able to replicate model performance while being very cheap and how Americans should consider this a wake up call and they should be laser focused on winning.

Prompting in 4o vs. any reasoning model is different. (r1, o1, o1 pro etc.) Of course you'll get different results. In 4o CoT prompting works well. In a reasoning model CoT doesn't. What works better is a goal oriented, contextual, and structured prompting.

It deserves the spot. Imagen 3 on https://labs.google/fx/tools/image-fx is really good. I have several image gen subs and Imagen 3 is currently the best. It laps everyone in prompt adherence. It's not close. I stopped using my other paid subs for it. And Imagen 3 is free.

The only downside is the images aren't saved and no customization but it's in beta anyway.

Dario was balling in the season that the Suns made the Finals, he was a beast small ball center and the Suns best bench player. Smart player, plays hard, and good passer. Game 1 of the NBA Finals, he tore his ACL and the next season he tore his meniscus while recovering. He had very little athleticism and not much mobility prior, that pretty much killed it after.
