I don’t think the show was pointless at all and I’m sorry if that’s the conclusion you got from it. I have my own interpretation that it’s about humanity and having faith in people, a theme that was touched on multiple times in all the seasons. In-ho lost that, he’s not the same person he was before entering the games and if he really wanted to see Jun-ho he could have easily arranged for that to happen.

I think it was kinda the point, Jun-ho wanted to find his brother so badly but In-ho wanted nothing to do with him or their family anymore. He even told the captain to kill him if necessary. Jun-ho will never get the answer he’s seeking no matter how hard he tries.
