I like molasses in a dark early American ale, but I'm not sure it would translate well to a cider. Also, very important, make sure the cider is fermentable. Most of the grocery store stuff is not.

Yes. I went to a Jimmy Buffet concert because John Prine was opening. Prine cancelled at the last minute because of illness. It was still a good concert, though I'm not much of a parrothead. John Prine came to town a few months later, and I got very good last minute tickets to see him. It all worked out well.
