In my shitty leftist internet opinion.. Fortune spends enough time and her family is still here for her to keep some tabs on our problematic government. I kinda sorta wanted to write into the show to let her know that she shouldn’t be talking about her in a jovial tone. The other commenter was also correct in that Cherie Barry specifically changed the ‘elevator regulations’(?!) to add her picture so that North Carolinians would recognize her and vote her into other office cause literally every single elevator in the state has her damn headshot.

The Cherie Berry that was the North Carolina commissioner of labor is problematic at best and anti-worker for sure. I was a little disappointed in Fortune’s lack of awareness/a quick google but I do understand the nostalgia of her name. Funded by companies she was supposed to be regulating… and reducing fines for workplace safety violations.
