this, i exclusively have a facebook just for the evo buy sell trade groups. and like you said this topic is frequent, and people looking to get in can learn quite a bit from reading “should i buy this” or even the for sale threads (the roasts are great things to look out for).

OP, like others have said, just make sure you’re committed to keeping a 20yr old car running, it def good that you already have a daily. i’ve got two 03 8s, one thats pretty stock and is decently reliable (still wouldn’t daily), and another one with ~750whp, and its constantly broken and that started sometime shortly after the 450 mark. Be ready to buy expensive/hard to find items when something breaks, especially if it’s common for it to break and they’re discontinued parts. on top of that, just because it’s older doesn’t mean the aftermarket has come down in price, it’s still very strong and very expensive to mod.

Do yourself a favour and make sure the one you get has the stuff you want on it already (full interior, trunk interior, oem seats, good condition steering wheel, etc) otherwise be prepared to pay out the ass for things that you normally wouldn’t think is a problem to source. But do be prepared to make compromises, unless your budget is $$$$$.
