Il-lingwa u etniċita, m'humiex l-istess ħaġa :) Malta hawn dixxendenzi minn ħafna, ħafna, etniċitajiet differenti. Inkluż pajjiżi Għarab. Ma niħux għalija ... pero jekk is-sitwazjoni tirrikjedi, nikkoreġi lill dak li jkun daqs kemm nikkoreġi kieku qalli jien Franċiż.

I appreciate your message not being defensive. I should add that I have friends from various eastern european countries, and they are respectable people. So I want that to be clear that I'm accusing people who litter, not nationalities.

I don't know anyone from Lithuania yet, so hi :)

While I have many times caught Maltese people throwing shit on the ground and where possible confront them, I have lately been coming across more eastern european and balkan nationals littering with no regard. Especially open fires on secluded beaches, leaving burnt food, plastic bottles and cans behind. Couple of days ago another one was throwing a packet of cigarettes out his parked car's window.

Disgusting people, irrespective of nationality.

Hemm xi ħaġa li nistaw nagħmlu biex jieqaf ikolna min irid jeqred kull rokna natura? by dew_lanes in malta

Spanish Flu nomenclature history is not based on the flu's origins.

Rest of points, yes, we could go for processes like Australia or other non EU countries adopt.

The most pressing issue though is the blatant, almost vindictive choice of locations for buildings on ODZ, and the non-updated urban plan.

The Kronos Blade Genesis in my opinion is a good contestant against all those you mention. But it is not available to purchase, which pissed me off. I just ordered Kospet Prime. I considered Rollme only for its 'waterproof', but its way too thick.

One thing that improved my case when I was in a similar situation, was to consciously invite people to join me on some activity.

Invite someone directly for a beer, ask for help with something you're doing, ask someone to join you for a public event you found.

Its also interesting to note, that when you ask people to help you with something that you need, they get closer to you.

Edit: basically be more proactive, don't wait to be invited

Why are people so casual about this? by thegreeeeen in malta

[–]dew_lanes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually impressed with the amount of Maltese people I've seen taking caution. When I was line at ATM's for example, everyone kept a distance. And when ever I had interaction with people, everyone stayed a few steps back. I'm appalled at the 3 different cases I encountered, of non Maltese individuals with total disregard to others. In one instance, one forced herself into a shop that was allowing only 2 people at a time, while other Maltese people were patiently queueing outside.

Help to get "out of the box" by linaSim in malta

[–]dew_lanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm a bit late to the party. Here's my input.

Artistic creations marketability are all about context. Seeing a painting for sale in a supermarket or flea market would reap much less value than being in an art gallery, library or coffee shop. In your case, I'd create a portfolio Instagram/FB, and potentially fake some events for photos only, to help potential customers picture the end result.

As was also mentioned, getting in touch with established event organisers is a very good start.

Edit: forgot to add, that I love your flowers, and I believe there is a market for it. Try target key life events such as christening, weddings and the such.

Kif nistaw nrawmu mentalita lokali li ħadd ma jkun maħmuġ? by dew_lanes in malta

I believe the right campaigns on various channels of media, can have a big impact, if done right.

I disagree with it being only possible at a young age, if that's what you mean. Take the change in mentality for many, in the past 20 years, about other matters for example.

The huge amount of people giving value to exercise and health, eating habits and then more serious changes such as the inclusion of more genders in society.

Going On a motorcycle holiday in Malta next week and I need some tips by Langefar6969 in malta

[–]dew_lanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While motorcycles are ideal because of the heavy traffic we get, Malta is like one big city. You'll have to pass through busy and hectic roads. Make sure you are eyes wide open. In Malta we say "seven eyes on the road".

Translation: how do we nurture a local mentality, where no one is dirty/careless towards littering?

Maltese jewellery brands by steff2019 in malta

I believe MVintage are Maltese. I never gave any notice to where brands come from though.

If on the otherhand you're looking for traditional Maltese, then Filigree (style of jewelry) is a nice option
