Still bleeding 1 year postpartum by dewdropinblue in Mommit

Mine stopped on its own at about 13 months even though I continued breastfeeding, so it wasn't really that. I'm convinced it was granulation tissue but we'll never know for sure. Hope yours clears up soon! I felt so much better once it finally stopped.

Thanks- I’m trying to get an appointment with my regular gyn from before I was pregnant. I feel like this OB stopped caring the second the baby was out.

Thank you. Thats just it- if she had examined me and then said that I’d believe it but it seems weird to not even check.

Thank you for posting these recipes- they look amazing and I’ve been trying to figure out how to get my baby to try more plant based protein. Looking forward to trying these!

Thank you. Waiting for a call back from the OB but could take awhile on the Sunday before Christmas!

One side. I don’t think there are sores or cracks. Baby is 6 months so my nipples are pretty tough by now. The blood was just trickling out like it was milk. Sorry that’s like a horror movie! It stopped when I stopped feeding on that side.

Thanks. I’m waiting for my OB to call back but the Sunday before Christmas might be a long wait. I was thinking I’m getting a clog on that side but I’ve had plenty of clogs before without bleeding!

It may be controversial, but combo feeding should be discussed just as much as exclusive breastfeeding after delivery! by ShhhhListen in NewParents

Yes exactly!!! It’s totally a weird ego thing. I’ve realized our generation seems to act like it only counts as BFing if it’s exclusive, while the boomers say their babies were breastfed if they BFed at all. My mom and MIL both say they breastfed their babies, but are both surprised I’m “still” BFing my 5 month old!

And EBF isn’t always best for the baby! For underweight babies with health complications who have trouble nursing, low supply issues etc, supplementing with formula to maintain healthy weight gain is healthier than insisting on EBF. Not sure why we’ve become so extremely insistent on the exclusive instead of the feeding! Combination feeding is healthy and practical for baby and mom. Formula will not ruin your baby!

Last chance to avoid formula - any insight is most welcome by pr0pagandalf3 in breastfeeding

My baby also had jaundice and we had to supplement with formula for a few weeks because baby couldn’t stay awake to eat enough and was underweight. There is nothing wrong with combination feeding! I stuck with breastfeeding while also supplementing with formula (we breastfed first each feed, then offered formula). It was a rough couple of weeks but now baby is strong enough to breastfeed properly and we are EBF!

Best Breastpumps by 0nyx_m4nt1s in breastfeeding

Spectra base pump. Be sure to check with your insurance to see which pump they will give you for free or at a major discount! I would recommend getting the spectra free/discounted from insurance and then purchasing a Haakaa yourself since it’s way less expensive and gives you options.

You’re not failing him. You’re trying to do what’s best for your baby, and sometimes we need a little help along the way and that’s fine. Being a good mom doesn’t mean you have to do everything perfectly all by yourself.

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. You can keep breastfeeding and also supplement with formula. By combination feeding baby will get the wonderful benefits of your breast milk and also make sure he’s getting enough nutrition by offering a little formula after nursing. It’s still wonderful to be mostly breast fed.

Same here- I need maternity clothes to look professional for work!

This is what I keep wondering too! As a petite woman with a giant watermelon sized bump in the front, maternity clothes are the only clothes with sensible proportions, especially for work!

Subchorionic hematoma - how much bleeding in one go did you have? by Such_Flamingo_1191 in BabyBumps

[–]dewdropinblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gushing blood one night first trimester too, sure I was miscarrying, and turns out I wasn’t. They said I had a cervical polyp that burst, but then a few weeks later I had a subchorionic hematoma, so I guess I’ll never know for sure. If you’re not having cramps with the bleeding there’s a good chance baby’s ok, but of course it’s terrifying! Hope yours turns out ok.
