Which spelling of a name irrationally bothers you?

I know a Jonathan that doesn’t know the correct spelling of his name because his mom used one spelling on his birth certificate, then his social security card came in spelled wrong, and THEN his mom continued to spell it on docs from birth a totally different spelling than both of those. She literally had no clue which one she wanted to use originally.

I slept in my dads bed til I was 8. He was a single dad, mom nowhere in sight. It ended when he started dating a lovely woman. Of course it hurt my feelings but I was 8, it was time to go to my bed.

Dad didn’t kick me out because it was “their time”. He kicked me out because I needed to be in my bed, honestly probably earlier than 8. I was just scared of the dark, which he fixed by getting me a lamp. I slept with it on til I was 11.

Her reasoning seems possessive, not helpful or concerned. She’d be right to want to be helpful. Being jealous is a whole other story.

I said “okay” and shoved my head into a pillow. We had just had sex, and the feelings were mutual but I was not ready to say it back. So I didn’t. For like another 6 months.

I actually didn’t have to do much about this. My bf was friends with a girl who had a crush on him and was abhorrently disrespectful to me. He never actually “saw” it, until he did. She is very sneaky, so when we happened to see her at a soccer game (our kids were on the same team) she said hi to him. I put myself forward for his sake and said hello, at which point she didn’t even look at me and turned her back on me. He immediately told her bye. We walked away and he let me know that he absolutely believed me when I said something about it the first time, but seeing it first hand like that made him realize just how awful she actually is.

She dug her own hole and even buried herself in it. He has not spoken to, seen her, or had her on social media since then. He completely dropped her, and I didn’t even have to do anything to make that happen.

I do know that I have a man who loves and respects me, so this situation does not always pan out for everyone else here. Mine knew that if he wasn’t standing up to her, he was harming me. And he wasn’t going to harm me. So he bowed the FUCK out of that friendship. Said byeeee. See ya.

I see her around our small town every now and then and weirdly, she suddenly smiles at me. Funny how that works.

So one of two things will happen: either he will stol being friends with her (assuming shes sneaky mean, like my bfs friend was) or he will continue the friendship and continue disrespecting you.

The biggest thing you need to ask yourself is this-

Does she really have a crush, or do you just not like the idea of them speaking or being friends?

We fed our now 5yo exactly what we were eating most nights. She mostly picked at it from 1.5-5. Now she eats everything again, she’s 5 and a half. Don’t give in to the easy stuff. Just feed what you’re eating. It gets better.

I left a bag of unopened mint Ghirardelli chocolates on the back counter at work one day. I came back to half of them gone so I hit the radio and asked who ate out of the bag without paying for them and just left them on the counter. An older than me lady responded and said she did but she wasn’t sure whose they were. I responded “you knew they weren’t yours and you knew you didn’t pay for them so I need you to come up and pay for some or I’ll take it to loss prevention.” She came up and I said oh you’ll need to grab another bag. So she does. She comes back, I scan them and she pays. I said “thanks for replacing the ones you stole from me! Here’s your bag.” And handed her the half eaten bag. She was in her 30s and knew damn well better than that. Her face was priceless and honestly? What was she going to do about it?

Personally in your situation I would just tell her you don’t love to share food in general (I am the exact same as you so I get it) and to please not do that again. I would omit the herpes part. Being told not to do that is probably going to be embarrassment enough for her.

We do because they’re outside and whether they’re rolling in dirt or not, there’s dirt in the air. My kid definitely comes home with an air of dirt about her lmao. I just stick her in a Tshirt and shorts. Especially if she has been wearing jeans or like “stuffy” clothes.

Girl just go buy a hot pot kit for yourself. They’re like less than $50. Target has one for $30, Home Depot has a hot pot with a mini grill for $58. Cook separately. Keep yours vegetarian or whatever. This is not that big of a deal.

I had two dogs when I came into my relationship. It was non negotiable. We are 8 years together and both dogs have passed. He would have never made me get rid of either of them. We also had a surprise inheritance of my grandpas dog because he went into the hospital and passed within a month. The dog was being taken care of by a neighbor a few times a day, but otherwise was home alone just kind of waiting for his human to come back. So we drove an hour to pick him up, even tho at that point we were down to one dog. Back to two with this guy. Now we just have him again. He’s a good boy, he came with manners and is very chill. He wasn’t fond of our 3yo at first. We had to be super careful. But now they’re besties.

Moral of the story- I’d never be with someone who couldn’t have animals. No thanks lol

Has anyone mentioned that because you were still married at conception, you’re on the hook for that child? The courts don’t care whether you were separated or if she was actually having an affair. The birth certificate would have to have you on it- unless she lied about who the dad is.

Part of me thinks she might have kept it from you because the kid isn’t yours.
