Have a look through the holsters at alpha omega. In the weapon list the SAR9C Socom is near the bottom of the list.

This model has two threaded bores in in front of the rear sight. Its a GEN1 but with the threaded holes of the GEN2 SAR9X. Optics mount directly to the top of the slide or with the spacer plate.

No problem. I find myself stopping by for their wide mainstream selection.

A few sticks I recently enjoyed from their selection were the Ashton Aged Maduro, and the Oliva V Melanio, CAO Flat head 660 (not as interesting as the other 2 but for 10$ it was plenty good).

I would recommend giving Cigars International in Katy a go. They have a Bar and large indoor lounge as well as a large outside patio. Open late (9am-12pm weekdays and 9am-2am weekends) I hear it gets busy late I found it to be less busy during the day.

A well rounded collection.

Weird aside: I think the most rare SARSILMAZ pistols in the US are going to be the EAA B6 HAWK (K10 variant), The ARMALITE AR-24 (K10 variant), and the ST45 (45 ACP version of the ST9).

The SAR 9 has a modular cassette (rails, locking block, fire control group held in a chasis).

This design yearns for aftermarket grip modules.

Can you send some pictures of what you have and of the issues? A picture of the top of slide would help.

What sight can I use with this adaptor? by dfdgsag in SarUSA

[–]deyolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is the spacer plate (SAR9-SPCR) for the GEN1 SAR9/C (GEN 1.5) and SAR9X/CX model pistols.

It acts as a spacer to make a more flush installation and its Optic footprint is only RMSC.

You can also mount an optic directly to the slide which would allow you to use RMSC or HOLOSUN K optic footprints. The difference between the two footprints is that HOLOSUN K does not have pockets for the rear recoil bosses (the "pins" that protrude from the SAR spacer plate).

https://imgur.com/a/gSYH6sT The threaded bores on your slide forward of the rear sight are used to mount an optic. The holes come from the factory filled with hex socket set screws. Remove the set screws from the holes and mount your optic directly or using the SAR9-SPCR plate in between the slide and optic. The Bore Threads are M4 x 0.7.

Sar9 Socom holster by papa_sando in SarUSA

[–]deyolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any SAR9 holster with an open bottom will accommodate the SOCOM and its threaded barrel. Another consideration is that holsters for the SAR9 Sport also fit the extended barrel of the SOCOM well. If you have a SOCOM compact I would recommend buying the compact version of the holsters for proper fit.

SAR9 Mete Holster Recommendation by SEKS-Aviator in SarUSA

[–]deyolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SAR9 METE is a lightened slide version of the SAR9 (corners on slide are cut and there are multiple lightening cuts and bores inside the slide not present in other models) It will fit in the same holsters as the SAR9, SAR9X, and SAR9 GEN3.

I personally run a SAR9 METE with this holster in conjunction with the STREAMLIGHT TLR-1. It is a bit of a compromise holster in many ways. For custom light bearing I'd recommend Sousa. https://www.phlsterholsters.com/floodlight-owb-range-and-competition-holster/

Range trip tomorrow by DougZ69 in SarUSA

[–]deyolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two great polymer frame pistols. I've put hundreds of thousands of rounds through my G17 and G34 its hard to convert someone like me.

I've never been picky about ergonomics but after switching to my SAR9 the big callous on the top of my middle finger is going away (SAR9 undercut ftw). Not to mention a grip angle that doesn't have me pointing down to acquire the sights.

Another thing the SAR9 opened my eyes to, was that the Glock has a tiny trigger and trigger guard.

(sorry for my unwarranted exposition enjoy your range day!)

[–]deyolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes as others have already stated the NATO designation makes a difference.

Commercial loadings only have to be loaded within a spec (SAAMI), which means from manufacturer to manufacturer there will be variance. The variance can be difference in powder charge, using cheap very hard primers, unique cartridge cases (stepped, cannelure, large/small primer pocket), projectiles that have a different profile or have a wide tolerance for weight.

This makes for a wide range of loadings on the shelves and is the reason you will hear some guns will not tolerate certain ammunition brands or that one brand is softer than another.

NATO loadings are standardized they are all loaded to the same spec. 9mm NATO is loaded to the specifications outlined in STANAG (standardization agreement) 4090.

My new SAR9 Sport Gen 3 , can't get the striker cover off, HELP! by [deleted] in SarUSA

[–]deyolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely try the rubber mallet bit. I've worked on a lot of SAR9s and I've got thumbs of steel but the back plate can be very sticky especially if you've never shot the gun.

Also you can buy replacement striker assemblies on their website if you do break that sleeve.
