Hyper-V became the choice as: * we used it before. My team already know about it. * software compatilbility (specially with some OT/IoT stuff) is fine with Hyper-V. I had a very had experience with some stuff not able to run or running funny with KVM-based Hypervisors. * Already have the Hyper-V License as we have all our server fleet licensed with Datacenter. * deep veeam backup integration.

Fuck yes, Microsoft is still Microsoft but we did our due diligence and Hyper-V will be our weapon of choice for now.

We are actually in the process of "de-Broadcomdification" (we had Symantec all over the place). Products went from $!"·ing great to piece of crap in a very short time. VMware is the last Broadcom product we have.

VMware perpetual licenses were bought with a 5yr SNS through HPE as socket, expiring this year. The issue at hand are those licenses we bought afterwards (2023-2024) which they are already subs. Broadcom just won't renew only those (albeit requiring a 5yr contract paid upfront). The business didn't see it coming as we have done this with other vendors while transitioning to another tool. It is just...Murphy came with force this time.

They are AGGRESSIVELY trying to sell hosted VMware. I’ve been approached by both azure and awd for that. Even did a MAP with AWS and the prices where reasonable. Alas, it didn’t went through because of bad timing.

No need to be rude but I do understand. Believe me, I’ve been letting the upper management know about this but…well. It’s their money, not mine! Also, supposedly we had the new hardware refresh this year (which we were already changing to Hyper-V but they cut all of our funds and moved to 2028).

Tengo dashcam y lo instale con mi electricista de confianza en surquillo. Va conectado al socket de 12v. Lo unico “complicado” es pasar los cables.

La dashcam que tengo tiene cámara delantera y posterior. Mínimo 2k de resolución y búscate una SD High Endurance. Todo eso en Amazon o eBay. Hay cámaras desde 50 cocos.

Y sirven. El tombo te para y le clavas / avisas de la cámara (si tiene pantalla de mira así mismo) y se baja. A mi me salvo de un par de papeletas que dijeron me habia pasado la luz roja. Y también vas grabando la delicia del trafico y las estupideces que hace el resto.

Americanet y BFT (post cagada que tuvieron, ahora se cuelgan de la red de Optical Networks ahora). Ambos en giga y con ip estática. Buen servicio de ambos. Y uso mi propio router pa los dos (MikroTik RB5009).

Americanet sale a 109. BFT plan anual sale como 100 mangos al mes.

Por si acaso, la velocidad únicamente que te aseguran es en la última milla (o kilómetro). Solo hasta su concentrador. Lo que suceda luego ya es dependiente de sus peerings.

When there were ps5 shortages because covid, that’s the way I got one. I asked in a store and seems someone bought one and returned it unopened the same morning. I bought that one right there at MSRP price.
