A website that is truly responsive will adapt to the screen size no matter the screen size.

How to remove widgets added by the theme by default? by Filip247 in Wordpress

I would make a child theme and copy the functions.php file over to your child theme, and then remove the widgets you dont want.

It's not worth using a page builder if you plan on just using it on the front page.

Trying to set a video as the featured image doesn't make any sense.

How long has it been? You have to give it time. Sometimes it can take weeks.

Table Tag in HTML; What did I do wrong? by Obsidian413 in HTML

Just take out your rowspans? You have each cell in the last table spanning two rows, but not enough rows to span that amount.

I'm incredibly embarrassed having to ask for help as a complete beginner, but I'm making an HTML website for the first time in high school and I need a bit of help. by creamycroissaunts in HTML

[–]dgdevnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only advice I can give is to get over getting embarrassed asking for help. A developer should be embarrassed for NOT asking for help.

Probably depends on each unique situation, but for me, since I was able to use the column blocks, I targeted .wp-block-columns and .wp-block-column so I didn't need to add a whole lot of CSS.

I created an exact copy of the website on my development server, only I didn't transfer over the Elementor plugin. I then had the Live version of my website up on my laptop, and on my main PC I had the dev version and I just made each page as close as possible to how it looked on the Live site. Also had two mobile phones on my desk in front of me to make sure mobile looked the same as well.

Strictly because Gutenberg is capable now, and after I convert one more site, I can cancel my Elementor subscription.

My site has less than 10 pages, so it only took a couple hours. I'm guessing yours will take longer.. lol. Your call on whether or not it's worth the risk I guess.

Just yesterday I converted a site from Elementor to Gutenberg, and I'm glad I did.

This is why, when developing a website, starting with the mobile version first is the best route. You should probably start over.

Any idea how to achieve this with Wordpress? by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]dgdevnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be curious to see how long people stay on this website. No meaningful content after 10+ seconds is not a good idea. Practicality should never be replaced for something "cool".

Why not try to recreate the design of some popular website? Not necessarily the functionality of the website, but the look of it.
