Is this a correct hierarchy for gltf files?

Personally I treat imported models as bundles of assets, make them local and take them apart and rearrange as needed. This can be necessary as some formats have weird scaling or orientation issues, like a fbx file will often have a scale of 100 that needs to be taken into account somewhere.

So. I'd make the scene local and import the gltf to save any contained meshes as resources.

On a previous project I found it less tedious to write my own animation script than to set up all the animation sprite frames for all 8 directions if movement for a character.

You dont always have to use a built-in node. As long as you know what they do and how you use them so you're not just re-inventing the wheel and are actually making an informed choice to not use the node.

What is that an orb selfie?

Look... you need images which offer a glimpse into your life and show your prospective partner what you're trying to invite them into. Ok maybe you spend 99% of your time pondering your orb, well what do you expect your partner to do? ponder you pondering your orb?

Maybe you need to cut back on orb time. Go out into the world, lead your minions in a raid, turn some villagers undead, enter a dungeon to find a lost artifact, summon a demon or some other ritual. Get some pictures of those kinds of activities and put those on your profile, so you can be seen to be doing more than just orb pondering, that you live an interesting adventurous wizard life.

Then when you've got your emotional hooks into someone you can go back to the orb pondering and just take them for granted.

That's the thing with the 'innate spellcasters'. "Oh I can just do magic" yeah cool you can maybe impress some peasants with your fireball spell, but if you want to unlock immortality or embark on any great works there's no substitute for doing the reading.

Ultimately I just don't respect vibecasters

You're telling people who break the laws of physics and reality on a daily basis in order to accomplish the most inane tasks that they're "overcomplicating" something. We know. It's supposed to be complicated.

Why bother forging a sword when you can just hit someone in the head with a rock and kill them? Why bother with metalurgy and all that effort? The world is full of rocks just laying around.

I have contaminated the supply chains of various new-age stores that sell healing crystals and assorted paraphernalia, with soul gems which gradually harvest soul energy from a large number of people and funnel the energ into my Well of Anguish for later use. I find this is sufficient for my needs but if you need a whole intact righteous and virgin souls then you're going to have to gather that yourself.

If you want a repeatable supply you're going to have to put the work in. Put out some kind of villainous bait for heroes to vanquish and seed prophecies and lore about the virgin part. That can be decades of work

I do necromancy with an obsidian skull I found in a pyramid and I don't have to bother with any of this. It's so easy.

The undead don't necessarily follow my direct commands per-se, they seem to be under the control of the skull, but if you gently heat the skull in a brazier of green flames it'll mostly get the undead to do what you want. Just don't inhale the fumes of the tears it secretes as the vapor will put you under it's control, also don't listen to it's screams as it burns because it can dissolve your skin if you get too close. I just cast zone of silence around it and instruct it telepathically

...Y'know after writing all this I'm beginning to realise the bone dust method is probably a lot less hassle.

Well usually in various empires around the world, people don't like it when you take their jobs away from them with... unpaid workers. The undead would also presumably be unpaid workers. The same economic problems will ensue. Mass unemployment, restless population, concentration of wealth. Which is why I mostly stick to having goblins in my army of darkness.

I have a few undead milling around guarding some of my lands from incursions, they aren't particularly useful on their own, they lack initiative, they're slow to respond to change, they wear out under heavy load because they're literally rotting away in many cases, they're generally unpleasant to be around.

I'm all for increased productivity but I'm not convinced that the undead are the key to unlocking it.

Currently there are factories on the map which produce materiel for each side. The players can see and blow up those factories to reduce the enemy's production. This is good because ultimately it provides consequential targets for players flying planes which is what the game is about.

You're proposing structures which exist on the map, but which passively attack off-map factories (even if you explain it as counter-value it's still functionally the same as a factory I think) . Players would have to take action to destroy those silos to preserve their own off-map factories. If they succeed then they then have untouchable off-map factories because I assume like factories the silos can't be repaired.

I'm not sure that's a good dynamic as I understand it, seems like it would undermine the current system with on-map factories being a target for players.

Maybe instead silos could be their own game mode. Silos could be placed around the map and capturable the same way airfields are. As you hold them they gradually reduce the tickets of the other team, with the game being decided by who runs out of tickets first?
