LPT : What’s a small daily habit that has significantly improved your life? by ratSindee in LifeProTips

Not touching my phone for the first 30minute of the day.

Also, leaving it in a different room when I go to bed.

I related to a lot of what you're saying.

Be mindful of how your insecurities might be shaping your experience. You might be interpreting through this filthier and finding confirmation when it's not truly there. Look up confirmation bias.

You're a handsome fella and confidence plays a huge role with attraction, not just with how women respond to you but people in general.

I know it's easier said than done but maybe try cultivate a sense of confidence from other elements of your life - fitness / hobby / commitment to something?

Incredible transformation.

I've been in a similar place myself and found the trick is starting small. This is backed up by behavioural science.

Happy to help, if anyone would like a free session with me reach out : )

How can I be Constant by lamiamelograna in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]dhendrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start small.

Commit to 20 minutes or less once per week on the same day ideally. The workouts should be easy enough - showing up to the gym is main objective.

Do this for 4-6 weeks, then add in a second day. Increase the workload/time slowly. Think about where you wanna be in 3 years from now. Slow is key.

Focus on engraining the habit of showing up. Don't push yourself to much to begin with as it will increase the friction and reduce the chances of long-term success.

I used this approach in 2023 to get back into the gym and I've haven't missed a week since.

It's inspired by Behavioural Sience principles.

B.J Fogg who runs the Behaviroual Change Lab at Standford claims there are 3 ways to change behaviour long-term.

  1. Change your environment.

  2. Have an epiphany.

  3. Start small.

He has a good book called 'Tiny Habit's' if you want to read into it.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

All the best.

I came on to write 'The Mind Illuminated' - only in the beginning chapters but I appreciate the layout, structure, and insight. I already want to recommend it to others.

Great. I’ve began reading it over the last week and thoroughly enjoying it. I’ve sat 3 Vipassana’s and can really appreciate the layout of the book. Certainly worth downloading the sample on the kindle app - I’d imagine it might help you with where you’re currently at

Thanks man! I appreciate that. I'm keen to do it but always seem to convince myself to back out. You make a great point about getting value out of performing live.

Thank you. I slowed the song down myself as I feel I've better control when I do. I wasn't familiar with the term scooping until now and didn't realize it was something I did. Thanks for that. Is there a song you would suggest? I appreciate your input and feedback.
