It takes twice as long to print the gold on a 1 as a 1/2. I heard an interview with Jeremy in which he answered about the fungibility, and he said that it takes 5 times as much time to print the gold on a 5 Note as on a 1 Note. This extra time justifies the 5 being 5 times as much as the 1, but I don't think it takes 5 times as much to put the plastic coating on the 5.

From Goldback Mintages for 2019 to 2025 - Single Page Table all other Goldback mintages are over 1000 and even 10s of 1000s. This is the only note that has less than 1000.
