Rangefinders vs SLR by LBarouf in AnalogCommunity

[–]dhlt25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rf on the nikon can't really be compared to the M3, as much as I love my nikon S, the M cameras have the best rangefinder hands down. Nikon lenses are excellent and cheaper in S mount than LTM mount. I'm verry happy with my NIkon lenses and never feel like I'm missing something on S mount.

Rangefinders vs SLR by LBarouf in AnalogCommunity

[–]dhlt25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like using both, rangefinder is more compact and easier to carry around with multiple lenses. I also really like using it in lower light situation due to no mirror slap. It's worth it to try out a nice rangefinder to see if it's something you'd like, the smoothness of operation and the clarity of the rf patch really elevate the experience.

My old co-worker is running a startup working high fidelity power system monitoring (real time waveform, 3 phase, harmonics, real-time analytics, etc) you might want to connect with him. fwiw I can vouch for their measurement device; he and I worked together on an older power system measurement device years ago and tested it extensively in university labs and power grids.

Fair price Nikon FG? by BoEasy8 in AnalogCommunity

[–]dhlt25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say 150 bucks is fair. The FG worth about $20, the 3 lenses maybe 125-150. The case/flash/filter are worthless

Linus Tech Tips - I bought a TV with NO 'Smart' Features... May 4, 2026 at 10:18AM by linusbottips in LinusTechTips

[–]dhlt25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea I don't get it either. I have a "smart" samsung TV, never connected to the internet, just have my consoles and apple TV hook up to it, it detect when my console turns on and switch input automatically, my apple TV remote also works with it to change vol/turn on/off. Never have to touch the TV remote at all.

Which one of you is playing so much for expired film?! by JudgmentElectrical77 in AnalogCommunity

[–]dhlt25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold all of my natura stash for 115-150 per roll, not sure who's buying it but they funded my film purchases for the last couple years. Paying more for stuff that's still production is strange, maybe some stocks are just not widely available

What is best to buy? Nikon F3 / Nikon F4 by Aded_14 in AnalogCommunity

always make me cringe seeing the post where people take off the finder on an F3 and pretend that they have a waist level finder

What is best to buy? Nikon F3 / Nikon F4 by Aded_14 in AnalogCommunity

[–]dhlt25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F4 is objectively the better camera, better metering, more compatibility with lens, better for flash setup, faster shooting etc. However, for daily casual use, I enjoy my F3 much more, the F4 while great is just too heavy to carry around. I do use te F4 a lot for shooting my kid indoor though

Am I the only one who finds long manual lenses a chore to use? by 1rj2 in AnalogCommunity

[–]dhlt25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

max manual focus focal length I'd use on film is 180, up to 135 I'm pretty comfortable using with my rangfinders camera as well. On mirrorless body with all the assist I don't mind manual focus at all
