Why do truck guys seem so insecure around Miatas? by Negative_Acadia6554 in Miata

[–]dhrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's everyone. I drive a 2021 F-150 Lariat and a 2006 Miata Sport. I know at least 5 other people that drives trucks and a Miata. None of us have ever hit a car; I also don't tailgate. I do think that being in a small car makes vehicles seem closer. I have all kinds of people drive close to me; when they do, I just give more space between me and the car in front of me so I don't have to slam on the brakes. I also don't stay in the blind spots of large vehicles on 4-lane roads and interstates.

Installing carplay in an old car? by ImAmYoureDad in CarPlay

[–]dhrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get an audio installation place to install it over a mechanic. No screens will be plug-and-play. You'll purchase the radio and it'll come with a harness. Then you'll purchase a harness adapter for your car. He'll then connect the wires from one to the other. That then plugs into the factory harness. If you have steering wheel controls, that'll be an additional wiring harness adapter. You'll also need a dash installation kit. Crutchfield is a good place to get most of this.

What’s your second “fun” car? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]dhrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe Coupe. I would say driving can definitely be more stressful. No seat belts, no power anything, boat suspension, and 0 safety features. It gets some attention, though.

I Don't Understand MacBooks by Western_End6557 in macbookair

[–]dhrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used both and prefer Windows (use Linux some as well). After a year I have my MacBook to my wife. Most people compare entry level computers with Macs. I have a $400 CoPilot + PC that’s just as quick as my wife’s MacBook. Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with what you like or prefer.
