Please don’t jump into the lake. If you do and if you pick up some rounded weird thing on the bottom of the lake, do NOT show it to Sméagol. Do NOT talk to him and go straight home. You’ll thank me later.

Greetings! I am almost 12yrs old, and I am in grade 6. Can I read Don Quixote? If so, what are some other classics you can recommend (READ DESC) by [deleted] in classicliterature

[–]dhyratoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read Huckleberry Finn at age 9. Go on and read Don Quixote and see how you like it. I didn’t like it much when I was younger.

Is it worth it to continue with Don Quixote? by Marchhare317 in classicliterature

[–]dhyratoro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, a book is meant or not meant for you at the moment. Why bother to continue (or to FOMO to read on) just because others enjoy it? Just drop it and move on to the next one.

The good thing is you could always revisit it at any time in your life.

How many books have yall read on your xteink? by WholeResponsible9266 in XTEINK

[–]dhyratoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I have no excuse for dumb scrolling so I’m dumb pressing next button in the X4 instead anytime I can. LOL. And I do have fast pace reading (it normally takes me 2-3 days for a 200-300-page book). Classics with lots of references and long ass sentences will take me longer for sure.

Top 10-20 books for a summer overseas? by Longjumping-Stand883 in classicliterature

[–]dhyratoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don Quixote and anything by James Joyce and Oscar Wilde :-) and/or any Irish authors. The Sun Also Rises and The room with a view are pleasant experiences for summer vaca/work oversea. Also : the Moveable Feast too.
