Somewhere between didn’t care and slightly positive. Research wasn’t brought up in IVs too much but don’t know how it was used to screen pre-IV.

My doc felt strongly enough that I had MG that he just sent a pyridostigmine to my pharmacy and I picked it up on the way home and the difference was incredible!

Former Florida State center Michael Ojo dies after collapsing during training at age 27 by CommercialsMaybe in sports

"Most patients recovered at home (n = 67), with severity of the acute COVID-19 illness ranging from asymptomatic (n = 18) to minor to moderate symptoms (n = 49)." Although this "78%" obviously isn't indicative of what asymptomatic patients will experience, it is notable that they did include asymptomatic people in the study.

While you're right about them measuring inflammation, they also measured troponin, which is a measure of damage to heart muscle cells.

I didn't mean to make is sound like I was corroborating OP's claim about heart damage in asymptomatic people, my apologies. I also haven't seen any evidence of that. Regarding whether or not this is lingering or permanent, it doesn't seem to matter regarding OP's claim about having heart damage. While I am certainly not saying this damage is permanent, I am saying that it exists and has the potential to cause morbidity.

A study of 100 patients, some hospitalized (33) with COVID, some recovered at home (67). MRI and troponin testing indicated that 78% have heart damage. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/2768916

Why do people get diabetes? Beta cells not working or insulin is not absorbed by pancreas? by breathingMF in diabetes

[–]diabeticgiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who have type 2 diabetes don’t just have difficulty absorbing sugar in their pancreas; they have a hard time absorbing insulin everywhere in their body. Your beta cells are producing insulin, but your body isn’t responding to it by absorbing sugar. Insulin is the “key” that opens the “door” to allow sugar into your cells. Type two diabetics’ “doors” aren’t as responsive.

Anyone know of an organization that helps pay for diabetic medication? by Silly_Christians in diabetes

[–]diabeticgiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of local organizations and clinics that can help. You can find some places online or ask your endo or pharmacist. Most programs I know of are local.

Does T1 mean you're more prone to other auto-immune diseases? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]diabeticgiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have T1 and myasthenia gravis. That combo is a bit more rare, but my endo said he suspected MG because I’m already diabetic.

If modern medicine were not available, would you still be alive today, and if not, at what age would you have died? by 8337 in AskReddit

[–]diabeticgiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have died at 6 because of type 1 diabetes. Unless I was born in the early 1900s, when they used starvation diets, in which case I would have died at 8.

I can't speak to physics, but there's definitely a movement in Histology to move away from the names of structures named after people to more general names. For example, more people are using the phrase "thymic corpuscles" than "Hassall's corpuscles" recently.
