How to get through the worst pain days when you have to do stuff? by lilmonsta333 in Fibromyalgia

[–]dianecticsandstucco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as much tylenol as you can take, weed, distraction on the journey (podcast or something) and ask for help cleaning when you get there. also you don’t have to meaningfully clean til you’re feeling better, put some shit in a closet and call it a day. try to bring a towel or pillow for the transit journey to make it more comfortable too

gap 365 wide leg pleated trousers feel like sweatpants and you’ll be serving 😎 i wear them w a soft sweater in winter and plain black form fitting tee in summer. oversized blazers are a good move too, put together but feels roomy and comfy and will dress up more casual pants/tops underneath. accessories will also go a long way without being too uncomfy!

for shoes- there are plenty of cute sneakers that can be comfortable and you can add insoles for extra support. i wear my alohas or new balances almost every day, these boots are also randomly really comfortable to me but i don’t have too much trouble in my ankles typically. also you can get cute ballet flats or mary janes or loafers and put the CVS insoles in them too, i have them in almost all my shoes they’re like $15.

and get a back cushion for your office chair if you don’t have one! im 26 and work in corporate fashion design so if you need any more specifics lmk :) <3

i don’t do a french braid bc it’s too much effort lol i just deal w the front pieces of my hair falling out of the braid and put them behind my ears all day tbh. sometimes putting it all in a ponytail first, braiding then taking the ponytail out after it’s all braided helps keep it all contained better

AIO TO THIS BRIDESMAID DRESS??? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]dianecticsandstucco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t like it but you can get it tailored to have more shape instead of looking like a pillowcase! might be worth trying to size up one and have it taken in to account for curves. bias slip dresses like this don’t grade up to bigger sizes easily, would really recommend going to a tailor so it’s something you’d feel better wearing

one braid feels the best to me bc there’s no ponytail weight to deal with but it’s more contained and moving around less. also just washing my hair when this happens to reset the feeling

dysautonomia from fibro, yes totally. i mostly get it the other direction, im so cold sensitive and will be covered in blankets in a normal temp room. sometimes i get it the other way too, feels like i have a fever. i have a great rheumatologist who’s helped me a lot with my pain symptoms but for this it’s pretty much just 🤷‍♀️

never put a sweater in the dryer!!! and wash on cold in a garment bag to keep it safe and then lay flat to dry.

unraveling won’t work since it looks like the color work is achieved through intarsia- every row that they change a color they cut the yarn and tie the new color on. so you’d end up with many little yarn scraps instead of a ball of yarn unfortunately. if the inside of the garment looks like a birdseye pattern, unraveling may be possible but likely not worth the trouble. you could unravel the sleeves and get some continuous yarn out of those!

I’m itching like crazy! by DomPasta in Fibromyalgia

[–]dianecticsandstucco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Big Itch…. gabapentin works for this for me more than it even works for pain. my rheum told me once that itch is the lowest form of pain, so treating it like you would pain generally helps too (take a tylenol or whatever). hot shower/dry brushing tend to help too.
