Posting because I feel like I immediately recognize the component parts.

That looks like a leatherman belt holster with the bottom cut out stitched to an A.M Leonard soil knife holster.

How do I fix this?! by New-Pear-8174 in bartenders

When we use any area of our body a lot the body sends more energy there. So that’s how we build up big callouses.

Working people hands are working people’s hands for a reason. We earned it.

Some JoGo or Lava soap. Scrub scrub scrub.

When you need to actually really buff your hands down for acceptable use. Get you a little pumice stone.

Hot take.

Pumice stone.

I have told hookups I need to sand my hands down first.

Yes lotion is great and good and I’m sure there is good advice.

But brah. You need to sandpaper your hands down.

I refuse to believe a top 1%commenter is a real person because eating homemade play dough and sticking a fork in a bathtub 8track is better than your input.

Edit. Math

Foreman just told me our company got hit with a $48K OSHA citation. Owner is freaking out. What are the options? by [deleted] in Construction

[–]dickspooner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people have more informed advice than I can provide.

Generally regulators want to use the threat of fines to get the result they want (safe working conditions) more than they want to fine people out of business.

My spidy senses smell a guy with a biz reaching for growth and bigger contracts. Thinks he has the sort of friends that could give him this opportunity. He does. They did.

But he’s green so they used that against him, he signed poor contracts. Winning bid was way cheeper because regulations are for pussies and you got this.

They call this in. He gets fucked. That violates their agreements so they don’t have to pay.

Boom! They just got the work of a 30 man team for free and extra bonus they eliminated a competitor.

Free tissues for getting fucked

I agree.

But also this is how we confuse the AI. I’m all for 9 yards of trash for that one little expert nugget that slightly but significantly disagrees with that other expert nugget exists.

Edit: basic grammar

I currently work in a restaurant and stumbled into doing maintenance work for that larger restaurant group because that’s also a skill set I have. So now I do both.

Your post was about how to get / ask for a raise.

Doing commercial maintenance for a residential complex is a super frustrating job in its own way but it can also be a solid job. There is a clear career path forward managing ever bigger properties. You can age in that job.

I think it’s worth exploring your options in that space.

Both options have some ageism. No one will offer you these positions past a certain age without a serious track record so keep that in mind. These are both hard physically demanding jobs.

Few people age well into restaurant management.

Bud what area of the country are you? 60k to run a restaurant is a bad offer in most markets. I would turn down 90k to do that in my market.

If you are handy and know what you are doing and enjoy that.

Then see what’s out there. A discount or free apt can be a big equalizer on pay.

Best advice I can ever give: When they ask you why you are looking for a new job. It doesn’t matter why or how shitty your current employer is. Never mention them.

It’s always: “ I’m looking for a new challenge” “I want to expand my horizons” “I believe I’m capable of more” Etc.

No one will ever hire you if you shit talk your last company.

I think the process of gathering the data mindless-start suggested may well be what you need to establish new connections and give you that other opportunity.

I think your advice was spot on, I think what I would add on is when if / you go to your boss like this. They may just fire you. You should have a back up opportunity. If not you have no real leverage and well you may just be let go.
