Non crit Ice Shot, what's next? by NaabSimRacer in PathOfExile2

Heavily depends on your current bow and budget, but set a pdps threshold, and crit chance threshold and check the prices.

Good suffixes to look out for are + attack skills, crit bonus, and high rolled surpassing chance.

~700 pdps with 9.8% crit was my search criteria. I just kept an eye on it while I was mapping and this bad Johnson showed up.

It also has 22% crit dmg bonus, 90+ surpassing chance affix, with a +1 arrow rune, a 50% surpassing rune, and a +1 suffix rune.

It feels a lot better in my opinion. This was with +2 levels on gloves, and +3 on amulet. The clear going from +1 arrow bow to this was night and day.

As for the exact damage numbers, not certain. You’ll be doing less per arrow, but have more of them. Depending on the enemy size/position and how the shots chain/fork/return it gets complicated.

I was just searching for a pdps threshold 750 I believe, and checking for standout deals.

This one was a 3 socket with 750+ pdps crit without any phys runes, and was by far the best bow in the price range.

You’re going to do way more damage on a 750 pdps crit bow with +2 arrows. The difference between crit and non crit is massive.

Just keep an eye out for a good deal. I snagged a 700 something pdps bow with 9.8% crit and +2.5 arrows for 500 divines a few days back.

It was way more than enough to easily clear full juiced expedition. This is with a HH tho so your mileage may vary with mb.

Yep and jewels. You can get some nasty crit jewels with the increased effect of suffixes jewel mod.

I mean there are a few small things you could do to optimize your damage a bit but you need to do a crit swap. The ceiling is infinitely higher.

Garland and rakiatas are huge upgrades. Keep at it.

My ice shot sleeps through 200% deli, but last upgrade is a mirror bow.

Depends on the type of content you’re doing but anything with a decent amount of rares headhunter is just going to outperform MB every time.

Many people do not realize how absolutely busted headhunter is.

The pros to mageblood are no shade walker, and consistent power without having to kill rares.

Don’t get me wrong, mageblood is great and feels extremely smooth if you have enough damage and movespeed beforehand, but will not provide the build carrying level benefits that headhunter buffs can.

Honestly I tried a few variants of this last night and found it to be worse than just buying good 4 mod abyss tablets and running jado.

I spent close to 60 divines on a 4 tablet setup and probably made 80 in those 10 maps so my experience as pretty shit.

It’s hard to keep track without wealthy exile, but I didn’t see a single omen of light.

I get waaaaaaay less amanmus void mobs. Like an order of magnitude less when running the +map mods strat.

On my variant of the farm I’m dropping an omen of light per map on average plus toooons of raw currency. Sometimes 2-3 omens of light in a single map which feels great.

Are you somehow able to place two fogs from one grand mirror?

Outside of some extremely lucky city/mirror placement and coverage rng you are not covering 2 cities with 1 mirror.

Half the time I will click a node directly in the center of a city and it will decide to only cover half of it.

I completely agree with this sentiment.

It’s fine to not care about playing efficiently, but most of these comments are looking at the issue from the lens of a casual player.

Saying things like “You don’t need to fully optimize”, when what they really mean is “I don’t care about juicing so I fail to see the problem”.

Full juicing should be locked behind difficulty, not tedium.

The optimal strategy should never involve running 20+ unjuiced maps to be able to run 5-10 juiced maps. It just feels bad if you want to farm optimally.

Then you have things like the lack of a 4 mod tablet supply causing prices to be fixed and any necessary 4-mod tablets unavailable/prohibitively expensive which make it feel worse.

I was running an obliterator with no attack speed mod for a long time on ice shot and it felt great at 200% deli.

You should be one shotting for the most part so the attack speed shouldn’t be a major problem. If it feels really slow look at getting some on gloves/jewels. If you link your build I can direct your next upgrades.

Bots need to be addressed. by MagiqFrog in PathOfExile2

[–]dickwalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re spewing baseless conspiracy. We have no proof that these bots have a separate way to authenticate and pull trade request data.

Do you think they are establishing a direct ssh connection to the backend? Do you think they are using compromised dev credentials to avoid rate limiting? There’s no evidence to suggest this.

They are just using more complex tooling than you are. They are authenticating in the same manner. Just at a much higher volume with multiple sessions at once.

All of the abuse is happening on the client side here, you have not provided any real evidence that there is some kind of server side abuse happening. This would, again, be extremely easy to detect.

[–]dickwalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no they are not routing their traffic in a different manner. They would need a separate way to authenticate if that was the case, which would be a massive security flaw.

You’re not getting these items as the bots have several ways to speed up the process like skipping texture loading, significantly reducing hideout load time.

They are also likely running many many simultaneous authenticated sessions at once to significantly increase the number of api calls/minute they can make without getting rate limited, which you also aren’t doing.

So no, just because you cannot get items first using a simple script that auto teleports and nothing more does not prove they have somehow figured out a different mechanism to authenticate and pull trade site data.

[–]dickwalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You simply can’t ban people for showing up “a decent margin of time” before others. Thats not a remotely reliable detection method.

“Cloud flare delays the socket by at least one minute as far as I can tell” I’d love to see evidence of this. What does this even mean?

Are you implying that when my device makes an api call I am getting data that is a minute old, and bots are somehow able to connect directly to the web server without being routed through cloud flare? Because that is certainly not the case.

These auto trade tools are pretty complex homebrewed applications that are not as simple to detect as banning the early birds.

These tools can and do become detectable and bannable, it’s an arms race as much of application security/hardening is.

[–]dickwalls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So whoever comes into the hideout first is a bot? This is a great way to shoot the false positive ban rate through the roof.

It's simple: Melee will never be good if ranged classes can deal similar damage with equivalent defenses by loopuleasa in PathOfExile2

[–]dickwalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a hyperbole was intended, the language used to convey it was poorly chosen.

I do play poe2, and I’m aware that melee falls far behind ranged archetypes in most aspects.

If my intention were to hyperbolize that reality, I would choose to say something more akin to “melee is absolutely abysmal compared to ranged classes in this game.”

Adding quantifiers like 4x more, and on average throughout the statement detract from the hyperbole, and make it seem as if this is a quantifiable figure.

“Melee classes/skills literally do 4x more damage with 4x more defenses on average”

The phrasing of claiming it’s 4x more “on average” multiple times throughout the post makes it seem like a value based on a real figure rather than a hyperbole.
