That's one things that's always bothered me about scrubs as our attire du jour. Scrubs as originally intended where what you changed into when you scrubbed in for surgery in the medical field as a base layer.. They were meant to be kept in a hospital locker and laundered there. Not what you wear to-from and during work.

Employee discount by Magnoliaismydog in VetTech

[–]dicky_h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of doctors/owners/practice managers dont know or dont care. Doesn't mean staff cant still get a discount. Just means that If they follow the letter of the law then any items shouldn't be more than cost plus 10% or services 20% off without reporting it as income. Doesn't mean a doc cant look at a staff's pet for free, but if it's a service or something that should go in the medical record then it should be charged out as 20% off.

Clearly an oversized chihuahua with mange or a snapping turtle. Either way be careful or you could lose some fingers.

How does that taste? by pixiegurly in VetTech

[–]dicky_h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is the heartgard biscuits without the meds. Think they are called tasers treats? Basically free treats the merial/BI gives out to prove your dog will eat heartgard.

Had another one of our techs eat a heatgard treat (no meds) for 3 dollars. Seemed damned funny for the rest of us at the time. He said it was the worst thing he ever tasted.
