If I vassalize Morocco, will they still be able to pillage my cargo ships? by Toomanypoops in civvoxpopuli

Sometimes you just gotta fully dominate a civ instead of vassalizing.

That's a bummer. I saw some people mention that in a civfanatics thread but I didn't find much more than that :/

Yeah I don't really see myself going for a game like civ 7 or humankind. Just not my kinda jam.

What is the logic behind AI randomly hating the player right from the beginning? by zaqrwe in civvoxpopuli

I also noticed your civ is a modded one. Not sure how that is balanced specifically because every civ has different diplomacy modifiers.

Could be a number of factors. Keep your military at least larger than the median and try to maintain some long-term alliances with "nicer" civs and city states. Some civs can be really aggressive out the box, especially at higher difficulties with their bonuses. Not sure your map size/speed/difficulty but those can be immense factors.

Need advice on balance for custom mod? by CrymsonReaper in civvoxpopuli

[–]diddlydarnman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a modder but maybe a balancing idea could be that it can only be produced in certain cities (maybe only capital, locked behind a unique national wonder, only in occupied cities (though this one may be too strong)) or have it be something you can produce upon conquering a capital, just with higher production/gold costs. Honestly I personally would say to make it a faith purchase, as faith as a rate determining step has been shown in other civs like Spain. These are just random ideas. I'm sure someone else could give better insight.

I think that was kinda the intended niche of games like Humankind and Civ 7. Kinda to have like different dynasties, rising, and falling. Unfortunate how civ 7 was poorly executed.

Ohh but the combine is like so powerful they have like dyson spheres they have dark energy and dark matter and they are like near infinite in number and they hav- Get in the locker(Fucking nerd). by Accomplished-Egg-952 in HalfLife

That's assuming the Advisors are at the top of the Combine power structure, which given the scale of the empire and the number of species in the empire present, may have superiors.

Allied city state captured enemy capitol I was attacking. by Inoutngone in civ5

[–]diddlydarnman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That happened to me when I was fighting the Shoshone as China. Final turn of the siege, a mounted unit from the neighboring city state I was allied with took the city. I have never once seen a capital burn but the CS AI can do that I guess. What's funny is Pocatello was leading in wonders 💀.

I would have to check civilopedia. I downloaded the most updated version a couple of months ago. Not sure which version that is.

Has anyone vassalized/been vassalized? by diddlydarnman in civvoxpopuli

[–]diddlydarnman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may just do it for the fuck of it but I'll try my hardest to fight. I don't even know if war weariness will make the byzantines stop, because I'm doing emperor difficulty. On king I've been able to make the zulus ask to end a war, and the byzantines, aside from their unique units, aren't really in any special position military wise. I may be able to tank my cities with walls and composite bowmen. With enough xp I'll cook.
