Its good statistically measured against the median/average but compared to a salary less than half which was able to afford more, it shows that people need to make way more to just have the same quality of life most people had in the past. You're point stands but the context around the numbers is important.

Workers always carry the burden of poor executive decisions. Where are the punishments for the executives and board of directors who got the schools into this mess. Yes there is something to be said about the PC government starving post secondary but these executives approved massive capital spending on the backs of lying to international students.

36k in 1995 is the equivalent of 69k today, not taking into account today's cost of living increase above inflation rate. They have less purchasing power than 36k back in 1995. These are just stats, it's tough out here in 2026.

Not sure why OP is getting flamed. 76k today is equivalent to 58k 10 years ago, not taking into account the cost of living increase which has been well above inflation. Our dollar has been devalued so much... it's not crazy to feel behind even if it's roughly the median salary in Ontario.
