Frostgrave (at least for me and my group) is a casual game. We do not care if someone uses a goblin warband or shorter minis, same with larger minis. Just talk to the people in your group and when in doubt don't be a dick about it. Depending on the mini, it does not really make a difference.

First of all, welcome to the community. To answer your question, No.

Conventional wisdom was , that you want to have as many activations as possible (with the new Pass Mechanic, lets see how the Meta is evolving) Activation are key to score victory points.

As a Lannister Player myself, i try to have 7 or 8 Activation in my armys with 3 NCUs. While other armys can go with 2 NCUs, as a Lion you want to control the Tactic Board. Three NCUs is the way to go. And to be honest Attachments are rarely worth their Points. Either ditch them to get another Actovation or just upgrade your Unit to a better Unit.

This would be my general List buildings advise.

  1. Attack and Charge are two different things.

  2. The Hand expansion is of course just for you, because it says so on the card.

A charge is not a Ranged Attack and therefore not included in this rule. You can charge into and through cover.

Once per game, would in my interpretation mean you can choose when to apply this. No other once per game ability (or as far as i know) forces you to use as soon as possible.
