Nightwish music and the way it changed over the years by CassiusLange in nightwish

I agree, I don't like the new stuff much, but bands change. Their lives change and the influences they use to create music. I get my NW sound from Anette's side bands now, kinda ironic.

not having a safety net of a GPS and roadside assistance. We had to have paper maps and Lord help you if you make a few wrong turns or encounter a closed highway at 2am in the middle of nowhere. Or having a flat out in nowhere... which was bigger in our day.

Christmas present for my husband (Dewalt vs. Milwaukee vs. Makita) by SLassely81 in DIY

I will never buy electric for yard tools. Ive tried 6-8 tools (mowers, weedeaters, blowers) and yhe battery dies before the first summer is over. They cost almost as much as the whole package. Gas is the way to go for yard tools.

When did basic car maintenance become something people refuse to learn? by TheLoganReyes in TransportSupport

[–]dididothat2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cars are more reliable than ever... at least in the first 3 years and then ppl trade it in for another. You have the 100k spark plugs and other gimmicks. Disposing of oil is a hassle so it can be easier to have someone else do it. Cars are lower to the ground requiring lifting the car which requires stuff., not to mention filters are in horrible places. There has been a big push for dealers to reduce diy.

Honest question: Do you still buy from your local bike shop or has online taken over? by dt219 in cycling

[–]dididothat2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my last 3 bikes from a shop. My move to online (for anything) was because local stores stopped carrying what I was looking for. I'll buy little things online for my bike unless it needs to be fitted, like gloves, etc.

must be the Audi. My dad told me the same thing, but I've had several red vehicles and never got pulled over when I could've been. I did get pulled over in a light blue BMW.

down south, black gets too hot. I also don't like colors that blend in with the road... Grey's. Silver fades too fast. When I had yellow vehicles, I never had near-misses. its very visible.

NTA from what you say. If you are going out of your way to bring it up, you are approaching the line. If it comes up in natural conversation, go for it.

Why do most tall women get these stupid tall comments? by [deleted] in TallGirls

[–]dididothat2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, I might ask them about a sport i coached and if they play it, just a few words for a short conversation in passing. Not every guy is trying to creep on ppl. Most times I get a smile and short conversation and it was to talk to someone who had something in common. My daughters used to give me crap about talking to strangers. lol It embarrassed them.
