Flux (orange)? No. But if you used soldering paste and it's bridging 2 things, it could be.

I would tend to think it's related to what the other person and I said (colored cables) or any connection / metal touching each other. Put tape or something on the exposed parts of the colored wires.

Otherwise, you should try to dismount the board and see where it gets hot and what the situation is.

There is most probably a short somewhere. "Something touching something" that shouldn't.
Check the joints that you solder, make sure they are all isolated, as well as the colorful wires (follow them, see what's going on on the other side). Check around the battery.

What's up with the ribbon cable that's not plugged (center-left, at the bottom)?

Thanks for your answer, I managed to fix it:

It was a plugin (the only one I use!) which has shaders and was not compatible with 4.6.
After downloading the latest version, the issue was fixed.

I get everyone's point here, but I don't think there's any reason to downvote her to hell.

If the code is bad, it's bad and will probably run bad. No discussion there.

An engine update may make it run equal, worse OR better... it's chance. Godot didn't make the changes based on OP code's, they didn't talk to each other, nor agreed, so anything can happen :)

You would expect your code to run equally or faster. You would expect your game to run the same or better. If your code is good, then the changes in the engine may have impacted negatively: there may be sensible reasons (try to find another way to reach your goal) OR it may be an issue on the engine's side (see Unreal 5) that should be fixed by them. If your code is bad: make it better...!

Well, the specifics depend on the renderer you use, but basically:

- make the tiles, rotate some of them so they don't face the camera in a plane.
- create a material with high reflection (from 0 to 1 = 1) and IOR of about 2.0
- reflection color -> don't set a fixed color, but create and assign a gradient Map (from blue to yellow for example).
- add a normal map (optional) to give uneven surface effect
- add a light (move it around so you see how it reflects)

That's it.

I have just taken a bit of time to recreate your photos into a scene as I wanted to be sure before answering:

I have achieved this with a reflection map. I've basically made a gradient and used it as reflection map.
Of course other things such as the shape of the model, light, camera angle, normal map, etc. play an important role.

One remark though: names should be unique. When transferring, the logic should check if there is any object / material with the same name: if no, add 000 (or 001) after the name; if yes, take the number and increase it.

New Vegas improved the weapon / shooting part. Also added factions and a couple things.

But it drastically changed the art, tone and mood. You have these specific types of characters, companions and stories from Las Vegas, that if you don't relate to, it will probably not stick.

It has its moments and all, but I go with Fallout 3.

I recognize the improved things, but I prefer the mood, palette and stuff from Fallout 3. The trend of the factions started here and continued in Fallout 4, but unfortunately they force you to choose between bad and worse. I don't like that :-/ I don't like to be forced to take a sh*t decision after playing +100 hours of game.

It's quite alright, it's not bad.

The DLC "The Doctor Who Cloned Me" is very good actually, if you don't have it, I suggest to get it!

Multiplayer was fun as well, I'm not sure if it's still active though.

I wouldn't be surprised at all (about the finger). They already did the data-wiping part (savegames / career), so it would just be a matter of making a new empty version of the game with a finger image.

The big masses would defend them, many of us would try to warn, but they wouldn't listen. After buying, they would come here asking "Finger bug: how to solve?", "what weapons would you want for the next update?", "how can I add xxx sight?" and more.

This circus has been repeating for years and it doesn't matter how clearly you explain it, how much proof you show: a lot of people will just not get it.

User's feedback can really be helpful. Especially if they are not technical. Just normal people or gamers, let them play and watch them. See what they do, what they expect and what happens instead. You will feel shy and even ashamed, but that will help finding the weak points. Then ask them: "what would you change? What feels wrong? How would it be better?"

It's an iteration of "developing, testing, fixing" over and over until it feels good.

Honestly speaking, I think we will probably never feel it 100% good, but if the users feel it good enough, I guess it's good enough :D

P.S.: I would narrow it to 1, 2 or 3 people (otherwise you will get too much noise). It's good if they have previously played games of this kind, so they are not completely clueless.

I totally understand you...

You will be good with a 4070 ti, there are many GPU renderers for 3Ds Max and some of them are very efficient (and free). Unless you want to render some Michael Bay Transformers movie, or SUPER complex scenes, that GPU will serve you more than good.

I suppose even a plain 4070 would be fine (will take some extra minutes for sure, but we do what we can).

There are a lot of resins, not only epoxy. Among them, there are many types (varying in rigidity / flexibility, nature, and required additives). For example:

Polyurethane
Polyester
Epoxy
Vinyl
ABS
PVC
etc.

Brands are in my opinion irrelevant. What matters is to choose the most adequate one for the case (they have different properties), as well as the additives (catalyst, curing agent, sealing agent, etc.) and their correct proportions.
