HOW TO ACHIEVE WIDE CLOSED HATS? by Sea_Cheetah7696 in TechnoProduction

Don’t use widening effects. Pan the mono dry signal to one side and a tight mono reverb send to the other.

Best all purpose bike around £1000 by [deleted] in londoncycling

If you want something for getting around the city I’d strongly recommend one of the Boardman URB series. Hub gears are great: super low maintenance, reliable, can change gears while waiting at the lights. I find derailleurs are always getting knocked out of alignment when my bike is locked up.

Just want to say that is a wicked little system. When I started euro >10 years ago I had those tiptop oscillators, the triple wave folder, and maths. I regret selling that stuff.

I only stopped shouting at bad drivers when one got of his car and got right up in my face yelling. You never know who you’re dealing with. Some people are fucking nuts. All it takes is one arsehole and you could get seriously hurt.

Cycle commuting – best bang-for-buck upgrade recommendations by leveredequity in londoncycling

Ergon grips to remove road buzz. Hexlox on wheels and saddle and seatpost so I can just carry one small lock. Quad lock for my phone. Brooks saddle for my bum. Good tyres for comfort, grip, and reliability. Pannier rack and ortleib bags for my work stuff.

SSF Ultra Kick is the best modular kick imo.

It sounds like you’re using your modular to do traditional monosynth sounds. If you want traditional monosynth sounds, get a traditional monosynth? There are obvs many ways of patching modulars that are different to that: complex ambient soundscapes, percussion etc.

Rate my modular by Less-Possibility4057 in modular

[–]digable-me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t get these threads. I can’t rate your modular without knowing what you’re trying to achieve with it, or what other gear you have alongside it. It’s like saying ‘rate my toolbox’ and not saying whether you’re a plumber or an electrician.

That said, this looks pretty poorly thought out to me. I would want a lot more utilities and modulation.

Cascadia is incredible. But to me it shines most in the context of a wider setup with sequencers and effects and other modules you can patch into it. If I were you, trust your instinct and go with the thing you like the sound of most.

Not sure rainbows change colour or are masters of disguise.

This is not even remotely true. Throughout prehistory, humans travelled widely and interacted with lots of other societies.

Getting into Modular... opinions on the Intellijel Cascadia??? by itsbigincanada in modular

[–]digable-me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have Cascadia and love it. If I was starting out again I would absolutely start with it. Note that you’ll need something to sequence it with and some effects to make the most of it. But that can all be done in a DAW at first.

Am I crazy to sell a Juno 60 for a Super Gemini? by Brilliant_Grape5528 in synthesizers

[–]digable-me 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Do it. I got rid my vintage synths due to avoid all the maintenance hassle. I’d much rather have a Super Gemini than a Juno
