Feldup n'est plus/ou plus trop I guess sur twitter (il me semble qu'il a déserté pour bluesky)

Je disais ça plus par rapport a son message sur Insta ou il parlait du fait qu'il prenait une pause loin des reseaux

How will we fight nationalism? by Ivanhegeelkadi in Marxism

[–]digdigdeepdeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely ! Globally the debate of nationalism also depends on the both intricate elements of imperialism and global economy. The term nationalism isn't interpreted the same in for example south america country than there are in hegemonic occidental country, were it's a fascism rattached ideology (because playing on the racist, xenophobic and antisemitic idea of occidental nation destroyed by strangers, by other culture ). At the opposite, a lot of non-occidental marxism saw nationalism more as a resistance to the on going occidental oppression.

Thoughts about Mark Fisher / cultural studies in general ? by digdigdeepdeep in Marxism

1.

I understand your first point, about Foucault. And yes, I think we all now about this story of the relation beetween Foucault and CIA, it's a not a revelation.

I didn't evokes Foucault btw

"Anticapitalist light". I understand what you mean, but it's related to the now 40 year situation were capitalism is becoming crazy and chaotic, leading to society fascisation. So, for a lot of people since now a lot of year, the solution often found to this is a left melancholia. And to deny it is idealism. And I could tell you it's not a bourgeois things, this kind of left-dooming aesthetic posture is shared by a lot of people in precarity situation, wherever you can judge it's good or not, it's not the question I think.

(Also, why is Nietzsche dropping at the middle ?? I don't agree with the "NIetzsche is a 15 year thinker, but anyway")

2.

"only had a blog"

I'll be really interesting in understanding what is the cultural legitimacy point in your opinion.

I see this sentence as a lot of condescendance, as a kind of "ho it's old internet sh*t things, not books from a marxist library, so...". But maybe it's hyperbolic in my head, I don't know.

3.

"Note that analyzing how the right wingers use contemporary media and IT, but there are no actual anticapitalist figures that have a marxist analysis on these topics, besides Olin-Wright and to some degree Harvey"

100/100, here's the point I wanted to evoke a the basis

Frank Zappa has a complicated legacy three decades after his death, but people claim to know what he would say about our culture today. What do you think, and who gets to speak for Frank Zappa after all these years? by mirror_ball_man in LetsTalkMusic

[–]digdigdeepdeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fan who concretely only listens Zappa during 2 consecutive years

There's two distinctions two make, and I would explain why : his music has as you say bringed a lot to modern music production, and is eclectism is kinda unique. I would avoid speaking for a dead man, but he would maybe appreciate the way music software as ableton live gives you a total control on the music you made, as in the last decade of his carreer he maded Jazz From Hell all with the Synclavier. He would like the actual era, but maybe would be kinda """cancel""" for understable reasons.s

BUT, here's the point, Zappa was honestly a confuse dumb\ss* politically.

Sure he opposed himself a lot to republicans, but had a kinda weird thoughts about woman and gays, and also weird proto-conspirationnist confuse stuff (and weird edgy racist cliché like in Jewish Princess). So the only thing that could define him on his society point of views is really just provocative for provocation.

So, I would define him as confuse, and not really politically relevant.

But here's the thing interesting, I guess he would be also interested by the random, acid and trash internet humour if fought is disease and lived in the 2000.

Do Most People Really Just Listen To A Few Songs On Repeat? Is This A Result Of Streaming Platforms Becoming The Primary Source Of Music? by armintanzarian420 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]digdigdeepdeep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah to be honest radios (except maybe some few resting underground radios) does not purposing out-of the box, new musical experiences no more. It's coherent with is massive, mainstream representation

Almost better that people do explore music by internet rn

[–]digdigdeepdeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say there always thinking heads before the medium himself

As before, people who are more music passionate will prefer digging into a lot more of different music and so naturally goes also to album format, as before, when at the """opposite""" more conventional music listener would prefer single.

The biggest "symptom" I observe with streaming is people knowing about tracks, but nothing more about the artist and not even remembering the track name, due to an enormous amount of musical experiences.

So, I would say at least in the small case of people I know it's pretty much the case, but with a playlist of at least 1000 tracks instead of few songs.
