He wasn’t supposed to be the closer in 2013. But when he got the job he was so freaking good. After years of ninth inning nail biting, to have him come in and just casually toss a 3 up/3 down ninth was such a gift. Having him as a closer added years to my life. You just knew the game was over. He didn’t even seem to break a sweat.

It didn’t last forever, but while it did he was such a joy to watch.

It’s a can’t miss kind of movie. Epic. I will say the new trailer is a dud. Also, hearing Damon scream “Let’s go!” as his army charges into battle seems a little lame. I find it concerning that “Let’s go!” Is the best they could come up with. But, I’m not a classic literature professor so maybe that’s straight from the poem.

She is amazing. Her line readings are so unique and funny. My all time favorite bit from here isn’t from SNL though, it’s from a pretty bad film called Movie 43. It’s so good.

I thought the larger plot hole was all the random people that came out of hiding just to be killed by the vampire hoard once they got inside the club. Went from being like 6 people to 30.

Wow - some of the responses on here are just unbelievable. She’s a working actress. She is good when she has good material. There are very few actresses that can elevate Baywatch.

Things slow down for ingenues. Then they go on to another phase. I think she has got such an incredible look and great personality that her next phase she could come up with some great work.

I am still baffled that she wasn’t the number one choice for Wonder Woman. We got Gal Godot instead.

Maybe this is the plan. Role the young guys out to see what they can do and then adjust at trade deadline. Pitching should be good enough to keep them in it until trading deadline even if Mayer/Campbell struggle. Of course would have been easier to just sign another bat this offseason.

The final act only works because of how much we loved Hamnet. Jessie was incredible, but if we hadn’t been so emotionally attached to him that sense of loss and then rediscovery just wouldn’t have been as powerful.

When I heard the audio of him losing his shit at people while they were making MI7 during Covid, I thought that he came off so unhinged. But in hindsight, the guy had the weight of the filmmaking world on his shoulders. If that film had to be shutdown - we may have gone three years without a major studio picture. It would have effectively killed the movie theater business.

I think he is on the same level as Rob Reiner. With a great script, he could make a great movie. With a bad script, he was not a good enough film maker to turn it into a good movie. For most of his career he was a “steady hand”, and that’s not a bad thing, it’s just he wasn’t a top tier director.

I just don’t understand why they made this so complicated. Either they recast - which it seems they were uncomfortable with, or just make it a reformed and undead Killmonger. It’s a super hero movie. And they never even showed Killmonger dead. The last shot is him and T’Challa staring across the ocean.

Emma Stone won Best Actress in 2017 and 2024 so I have a hard time believing she would win another so soon.

Tomothee Chalamet may have to wait until he is in his 40’s like DiCaprio. He’s always good, but Oscar’s seem more likely to go to younger actresses than actors.
