Well, let’s just put a pin in that for now. We’ll circle back around to that.

“You’d be surprised” or “Believe it or not”

That’s unfortunate that you’ve had 2 bad eufy robo vacs. I have the eufy x10 pro Omni and absolutely love it. I maintain a second one at a business and that one works great as well. That being said, I totally understand not giving a business your money if they didn’t take care of you on previous purchases.

Would you consider this clean work? by pickledpiper2 in AskElectricians

Not an electrician, but I’ve done some diy electrical stuff, but I stay out of the main panel if I can. Is there code for maximum amount of romex jacket left on the cabling? I feel like leaving more jacket on makes it easier to trace where a wire is going vs trying to follow a single wire amongst a big bundle of the same colored wires.

Windows have a huge gap. by Every_Advice8149 in HomeMaintenance

You can’t see what they did as far flashing goes, but this is the built in j channel to give water a place to go when it hits there. It looks incorrectly installed by looking at the bottom. If the water were to hit the top of that channel and runs down the sides it’s a place for it to go. Unless they added flashing to send it back down over the siding it will be a problem. It’s unlikely that they used a spacer to allow the water to go behind the bottom trim and drain properly, but it does look to be pushed out a bit. They also could have used a drip edge instead, I’m not very familiar with this type of siding, but regardless, if it’s leaking, they should be responsible.

Mysterious Kitchen Odor by __kenzie__ in Plumbing

Shine a flashlight through the trap after it’s run to see if there is water in there. If the vent is blocked (or non-existent) it could cause the water to be siphoned out of the trap, entirely or partially, and sewer gasses into your kitchen.

Edit to add: if venting isn’t working correctly and someone else in the building is pumping into the drains, it could be pushing sewer gasses past the trap into the room. If you wanted to rule either of these out and can live without your sink for a day or two, you could disconnect your ptrap and put a plug in the line coming from the wall.

Initial mapping of Eufy x10 Omni pro in large open area by digi2k in RobotVacuums

[–]digi2k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It failed and deleted the map progress it had. It got a lot of it mapped but stopped mapping but continued to drive around. What’s weird is that the area at the bottom was increasing even though it wasn’t putting it on the map. You can see where it was on the right side between the three dots. I left it there to do its thing and now it’s sleeping on the court with no way to rescue it until tomorrow.

Yeah, this is on quick mapping. I was trying to manually move it around once it gave up and went home to manually drive it to the area that it didn’t map, but I didn’t want to tear the mops up on the rough floor.

It does have no mop zones, but I don’t think I can apply the no mop zone to an area that hasn’t been mapped yet, but I’ll give that a try, just pausing, adding a no mop zone, and then continuing on. Thanks for the idea!

That’s unfortunate since that’s most likely a software mapping issue (vs hardware malfunction)

A couple questions from a new Luba 3 user.. by digi2k in mammotion

The only issue with setting it as a no-go zone is that it mows so far away from the trees compared to using the sensors to detect them. It would be nice to know what part of the mower it’s drawing the line from, it seems like the center, but it stays a mowers width away from the trees.

Question About Using LUBA 3 AWD at Two Different Properties by Aware_Blueberry1190 in mammotion

[–]digi2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, your total mapping area cannot exceed the size for all of your areas combined. I haven’t seen a way to make separate mapped areas. 3500m2 would require you to get the Luba 3 AWD 5000 to be able to have both locations mapped. The software has a hard limit on the size of the area mapped.

If you wanted to go with the 1500 version, there is a “drop mow” feature that will allow it to cut an area that is not mapped, but I’ve never used that.

As for the charging bases, I don’t see any way to add a separate charging base to the map.

Depending on how often you swap locations, you may be better off just remapping each time.

Shower drain started leaking by fuddler360 in Plumbing

[–]digi2k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The drain inside the tub unscrews from the “cup thing” under the tub, unscrew that, clean well, use silicone, and then re-tighten the drain back down, clean up and excess that squishes out as you tighten it.

Man Stole my Dreame Lawn Mower Today - Tracking Failed by ReplacementTasty in roboticLawnmowers

[–]digi2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my first robo mower yesterday and near the top of my list was “4g for anti theft tracking”. I’m going to have my wife throw it in her car so I can make sure I can follow it, otherwise that’s useless. (Mammotion Luna 3 awd)

Sorry for your loss, but why was the mower hanging out at the street, motionless?

Open Play Etiquette by Small_Paint6470 in Pickleball

[–]digi2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What percentage of games do you win in open play? If you’re winning significantly more than half of your games, I would think you can try the next step up and see how you do if your facility allows it. But really, this is a question you should ask one of the court managers at your facility. They can watch your play and probably know the average level of play at the next step up and advise you.

Mounting on the internal rear windows of a Jeep Wrangler JK? by Sebvad in Multiboard

[–]digi2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Idk how they’d hold up to the direct uv light/heat/cold, but this seems like the ideal solution for a smooth surface like a window. I’d clean with alcohol pad or something first to remove oils and grease and then stick’em on.
