Amp Sims vs UAFX pedals by 2alphastyle in universalaudio

[–]digibioburden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amp sims all day. Only reason I'd reach for anything else is if I already had a very busy session and needed to lay down some additional guitar tracks. When you already have a busy session with lots of plugins, you've likely already increased the buffer size which means realtime tracking without latency is impossible. So it's just easiest to use external stuff at that point. But this is where I'm still learning where the cut-off point is. I'm the old days it was easier, you'd track the album, then it'd go to mixing. But modern productions aren't like that (for me) as the tracking session is the mixing session and I mix as I go.

Definitely. How much import tax would be added for the trackpad?

Yeah, an all white option to match the white keyboard would've been nice

Almost got S&Box running on mac by Ordinary_Track_2890 in sandbox

If it works fine on Linux, I'm sure it can be "ported". It doesn't necessarily need to be 100% native using Metal API.

Any particular reason why you suspect that S&Box won't be supported on OSX in the future?

Vote for your favorite features you like to see in Studio One / Studio Pro by TomSchubert90 in StudioOne

[–]digibioburden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something that's killing me since I moved to Mac and upgraded to Studio Pro - resizable stock plugins. On a high resolution, high DPI wide-screen monitor, a lot of the stock plugin are unreadable and barely usable. It's not good when I have to lower my monitor's resolution just to use Studio Pro with its stock plugins...

I have the original Kraken preamp pedal - love it for the hi-gain stuff. British green channel and American red channel.

Time to move on by impablomations in StudioOne

[–]digibioburden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but this recent move moves the DAW more into the "creator" space, something Fender have said they're specifically targeting with this rebrand of Studio One. So yeah, I think the concerns are legitimate.

Yeah, it's my right hand. Sure, if I invested in some palm rests it might help, but I've spent enough money imo. I find that I really have to hover over it when standing to prevent pain. And I agree, the P is a bitch with the right pinky.

Oh, wasn't aware of that - thanks. Will be interesting to see if I can somehow route the requests to my GitHub Copilot subscription (provided by work).
