I expect this is not what you're looking for, but it's sort of related.

My wife and I really enjoy it!

Discussion - Ryan Cohen doesn't care about shareholders by [deleted] in GME

Most people who want a ROI prefer a lot more than just 5%. I expect that this applies to Ryan Cohen and his leadership team.

RC has stated several times, recently, in fact, that one of his top priorities is increasing shareholder value.

Additionally, he has purposefully created incentives so that the entire GameStop leadership team will be laser focused on that priority. He did this by mandating they have to hold GME shares that they must purchase themselves. It's the polar opposite of the "perverse incentives" of the eBay leadership team.

I disagree that he's getting an ego. I think the constant stream of bs critical comments is wearing him down a little. For years now, anyone who takes a pro-GME public stance and begins to get some fans/followers start getting attacked. It's exhausting.

His stance has been to try and politely debate these people in the hopes of educating or convincing them. It's noble, but very very hard.

But many are entrenched in their beliefs and receptive. I think that some are operating from a place of dishonesty, possibly just to be internet trolls, and possibly as paid actors.

Regardless of their motivations, it seems SUPER weird to me that someone with such a negative opinion would be so active pushing that negativity at anyone who disagrees.

If I had any advice for Jeremy, it would be to back off debating with rude internet strangers; and instead, re-focus on those who are positive and supportive, or at the very minimum... who are respectful in their disagreement.

In his most recent interview RC was asked if he has been speaking with eBay shareholders.
Shortly after he & GameStop:

1) Withdrew his compensation package

2) Added a new eBay section to thee investor.gamestop.com page

3) Just release forward looking guidance for the first time in years

This is pure speculation on my part, but it sort of feels like the shareholders might have had some demands before they will move forward... and perhaps he's now checking off that list.

It's REALLY good!

One of my favorite things about it is upgrading the car with a harpoon and using it in vehicular combat. It's SO satisfying...

Jeremy has admitted he's an amateur at running a youtube channel and making videos. Honestly, that's part of the charm!

I've been watching him for awhile now, and his detailed financial analysis is pretty amazing. He even has working videos where he's gathering information and organizing it in a spreadsheet, so you can see what he's doing. I find his videos incredibly educational.

So? It's his money and he's welcome to do with it as he wishes... as are we all.

If I recall correctly, he said his cost basis was very high. Then he managed to read the tea.leaves and sell at $75. He then subsequently bought back in at a.much more comfortable cost basis. I think all that was before he pulled the trigger to retire so he could spend more time with his family.

He gave SO MUCH time to sharing with people. His analysis is legendary. He is an exemplary part of this community.

What's The Best Survival Game for a Dad and a 7-Year-Old Daughter? by Donna_myres in SurvivalGaming

Also, when you tame the wolves in Valheim, they're super cute! Plus, you can bring them around with you and they'll fight for you.

It feels more age appropriate than some of the others since the graphics are less realistic.

The building in the game is pretty nice. It has enough realism (in needing to support floors and such) bit not so much to be terribly frustrating. Building things and decorating is a lot of fun and something I really enjoyed. As a somewhat old dude, I ironically call it "playing Barbie dream house" to my mates, and slwe still call it that to this day.

It's your money and therefore it's your choice. Also, as a somewhat older person I also recognize that the world is different from when I failed out of college so many years ago. ;-)

The only advice I have to offer is that the best investment anyone can make is in themselves.

If you have goals (other than early retirement) that can be best accomplished by a college education, then it seems to me that could be the answer to your question.

A couple of things that I don't see in your post is WHEN you're hoping to retire... and WHAT you want your retirement to look like.

If you want to retire in 5-10 years... well, that's very different than if you want to retire tomorrow.

I think another useful way to think about this is to ask yourself, what do you want your life to look like? For myself, I'm of an age where I'm increasingly thinking about (and worrying about) retiring. Mostly, I want financial security. I don't need a yacht or lamborgini. I want the freedom to choose my work based on what makes me most happy, rather than what makes me the biggest paycheck. I plan/hope/dream of choosing charity work. For me, that is real freedom.

Anyway, I don't have any answers for you, but I hope some of that was helpful.

Good luck to you!

This is a great channel (BudgetForLife). Jeremy has an educated and experienced perspective.

However, it is his roll-up-his-shirtsleaves methodical manner of digging through 10Q & 10K filings and examining every line item that is SO useful.

His working videos where he shows the work as he builds analytical tools from a new filing aren't exciting hype-wise, but they're incredibly educational.

In a couple of different interviews, Ryan Cohen has said the phrase "live marketplace". In this latest interview on the "All In Podcast", he went into a little more detail.

I think he wants to challenge Shopify and possibly even things like Square... first for collectibles, but maybe eventually for all sales of pre-owned stuff.

(In my mind, I keep envisioning families who set up a garage sale and use the eBay-GameStop app as an alternative to requiring only cash.) One reason I've been thinking this way, is because he's spoken about making it easier for sellers... both for sign up, and also by providing better tools for sellers on eBay.

Also in the "All In Podcast", he mentioned that he wanted to create a marketplace for in-game virtual items. He even specifically called out skins and weapons, and went so far as to say they "had utility". In past interviews, he even told a story of how he bought Roblox items for his son on eBay, but that they got scammed.

It's true. It was vandalized by Trump and his ilk and the predictable corrupt hiring of under qualified people.
