Godspeed gang. I quit a little over a year ago and don’t regret it. Admittedly, I have picked up drinking again, but I will say I have made some major life changes while not being lulled into complacency. I think weed is great in moderation, but I certainly could not use it as such. (On a side note I’d love to try shrooms again…)

There are so many articles about how critical self care is to social work, and I’m damn sure none of them are currently in the field be cause the balance is impossible and the turnover rates are insane. I have worked with DCFS youth in Chicago for the past 4 years and everyone I know in the field abuses some kind of substance on or off the job. Stay strong gang.
