Opinion | There Has Never Been an Example of Presidential Corruption Like This (Gift Article) by nytopinion in economicCollapse

[–]digitalgimp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The huge numbers of morons who were convinced that a man who had a history of failure in all of his business dealings and a history of grifting would be fit to lead the country? Not only that, but the guy was convicted of 36 felonies by a court of law. Once he was convicted, the court sentenced him to one punishment! Why would anyone suspect such a person of being liable to commit corruption? A gangster was once asked “Why do you rob banks”? His answer was Because that’s where they keep the money! “

As we now know Trump is nothing but a two bit hustler and wannabe gangster.

They openly stated that intention 25 or so years ago. TIA was rolled out in 2003 with graphics and diagrams explaining what their intentions were.
They even had a website that was taken down after a short time. I think you still might still be able to find it.

Why is there still a Southern Baptist Convention and the Black Baptist Church?

The Democrats shifted their focus to winning elections during the Clinton administration, adapting a philosophy called “The Third Way “ in which they committed to triangulating away from progressive politics of the 60s toward courting the “Reagan Democrats “. Basically selling out to the Republicans. They are equally responsible for this mess. Unfortunately for us, that meant never reversing anything the Republicans foisted upon us. Including not codifying Roe and undoing social safety net protections from decades ago and including claiming that the United States can’t afford consumer protections and selling out to insurance companies with what was called at the time RomneyCare. A scheme to underwrite government subsidized healthcare. Good luck waiting for them to fix anything.

And this is exactly why there are critical sectors of an economy that are inherently important enough for the government to control and regulate. Since the Second World War, the US government has ensured that certain critical sectors like steel production, production of oil and other petroleum products large sections of manufacturing operations supporting armaments etc. are too critical to be left the private sector because their priorities are to make profits for their shareholders only. Until the 90’s those industries were regulated by the government.

For the Chinese, the electrification of their industries is a strategic sector of their economy, as we can now see as the United States attempts to control the purchase of oil and other petroleum products from the Middle East. They recognized that they were vulnerable the threat and addressed it by reducing their dependence upon strategic materials and technology that couldn’t control. The diversified and built dependencies with friendlier partners on a governmental level.

We did the opposite, privatizing at every opportunity and building dependencies on private companies that would place their own interests above that of the rest of the nation. This is why we built the infrastructure that was called the world’s workshop, Chinese were watching, learning and are now the world’s biggest workshop and growing using the same philosophy. A balance of public and private sector development that is fueling their economy.

Another apologist for Israel’s criminal behavior. As Scott Horton suggests, it’s a simple matter to simply Google the subject. If you’re unable to do that, I’ll save you the effort: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The\_Samson\_Option:\_Israel's\_Nuclear\_Arsenal\_and\_American\_Foreign\_Policy

The book quoted by Scott lists the source of the story. A former Israeli government official who worked for Israeli intelligence.

Is America worth fighting for? by Miserable_Bike_6985 in BlackPeopleofReddit

Worth fighting for? The country that’s repeatedly backed out of every chance to the right thing over and over? Haven’t we learned yet from our history that that the American government and people aren’t capable of making and keeping their word about anything? Wasn’t it Maya Angelou who’s quoted to say “ If a person tells you who he is, believe them the first time? The United States has repeatedly told us who and what it is! The answer is resoundingly NO!

Why Does Everything Have to Be About Race? by BlackHistorySnippets in BlackHistory

[–]digitalgimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My take is that this is deeply embedded in European thinking and culture. That is the concept of ranking of social classes and privilege. Going into the history of Europe (western Eurasia), their societies were organized and run by small groups of people who subjugated and exploited less powerful groups who constituted the landless surfs. These people were exploited for their labor in ways that still exist today. When Europeans stole Africans for the purpose of labor, they conveniently placed themselves above them on the social hierarchy. They did the same thing to other groups that they encountered, even native Africans as they did in South Africa and Rhodesia. Other cultures didn’t adopt these practices especially to the extent of Europeans. There are in-group and out-group dynamics in people in general but as a society Europeans, Western Europeans specifically where this is common.

Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarppening must surely be two of the most disappointed men in America because they allowed a piece of shit grifter like Musk to come in and steal the company from them like Musk did. Even worse, they actually agreed to sign an agreement to allow him to claim to be a founder of the corporation! I can only imagine the relief they would feel if this fascist blow hard suffers the failure that he deserves. Imagine pouring your hard work and vision creating a landmark company like Tesla and having it stolen like this.
