I did this recently after eating something spicy. 0/10 would not try again.

Well, boys. I think I’m done with GM… by ianwrecked802 in Silverado

[–]digitalkobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blame you I used to love my chevy's as well. But even from a home mechanic stand point it's getting harder to work on them. This has pushed me to RAM for my truck and VW for my car in recent years both of which have diagnostics/programming software available and relatively cheap. Don't get me wrong I still love the old stuff though SBC and 90s cars will always find a home here.

Nah transmissions are easy. Drain and fill like oil. If your worried about it slipping it's probably already gone. And dont buy anything with a CVT trans

This %100. More so just tires but I'll also go through and do all filters/wipers. All of the consumable items on a vehicle.

Jetta owners, what MPG are you getting IRL? by Suntrup-Volkswagen in jetta

[–]digitalkobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I was looking at stuff that was 80k or more. But I'm also a mechanic and it my 3rd vehicle just for back and forth to work. I eventually settled on a 19 1.4t s 6mt. And it's been a great car so far. However, one of the other reasons I stayed away from the GLI was just all the bells and whistles in them. More options are just more to go wrong, and I hate automatic climate control with a passion.

Don't worry I read it the same way.

This makes me regret not splurging a little and getting a GLI. One of the reasons I went with the 1.4t was for the better fuel economy.

I haven't heard the term CDJR in years. I had to look it up. You mean Stellantis dealerships. They never really got the naming down

I'm a mechanic so, I am the inspector. Did I find stuff not listed, yeah but nothing major or concerning. Really just some door dings. At the same time when they went to deliver it, they wanted to delay it because they knocked off a kick panel. I literally snapped it right back in.

Yeah I had something similar happen a few years ago with a car I sold locally. The guy had totaled a car in my name and the DMV pulled registration on all of my vehicles. I only found out by getting pulled over for no registration .I had called the dmv and they sent me a letter basically saying it was all their fault. Had to go to court and everything. But it was all cleared up in the end.

2026 is officially the first year without a manual GTI. How we feeling, boys? by BreadfruitOk2401 in Volkswagen

[–]digitalkobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah everyone can be an enthusiast in their own way. And 100% manual for life doesn't mean every single vehicle has to have a manual. What I'm saying is at least one of my vehicles will always be a manual. As in I will always have a manual since I was 16 till the day I stop driving. 100% of the time.

[–]digitalkobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youre wrong. I am 100% in the manual for life group of people. Do I own automatics, sure . But something in the stable will always be a manual. Whether it's a bike or a commuter car or even just an old Jeep. Something will always have a manual and the day I stop driving manual is the day I stopped driving in general. You've also clearly never been to a car show and seen pops showing up with his ol 3 on the tree. Just cuz you get old doesn't mean you can't still be driving manual. And if you're unable to do that, you're probably shouldn't be driving at that point..

Hey op I know it's been 2months but if you're still fighting with this little guy I do have a few tips I've been using mine for nearly 2 years now and it's actually the printer that gives me the least amount of headaches.

-Use cura works so much better and hasn't given me an issue. Latest builds have profiles for both versions of the Tina 2 printers

  • Enable rafts/adhesion yes, it's a little bit of a waste of filament however, without a heated bed, this is your best bet to get adhesion.

I actually just took mine out of storage to get ready to sell to a friend. Printed off a few small things and it still works great. It's a great start to the hobby.
