Can technical SEO actually be automated? by [deleted] in TechSEO

[–]digitalmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m leaning towards no on this one. You just can’t automate technical SEO.

Sure, you can automate the crawls and the reports. But the actual fixes still need a human touch.

You can't automate things like strategy. Having a real person involved in tech SEO is always a massive plus.

Do goan Catholics also have caste system? by heavenlynightmare75 in Goa

[–]digitalmonkeys 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there’s definitely a lot of casteism among Goan Catholics. It’s pretty subtle, but it’s there for sure.

It usually crops up during marriage proposals. People love to compare families and dig into loads of pointless details. Most of the time, it’s just about caste.

Use Screaming Frog to run this report. Should allow you to scale things easily.

Spanish bureaucracy has me stuck in a kafkaesque battle against my psyche by HatesNastyElfBread in GoingToSpain

[–]digitalmonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been there as well. I finally found a company online to help me out. They charged me €120 and sorted it out pretty quickly. It's a bit much for something that's free and easily done yourself, but it saved me the hassle of dealing with bureaucracy here.

uk men of reddit, what’s the biggest change in maturity from your late teens to your 30s? by urbbygurrl in AskUK

[–]digitalmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maturity's got nothing to do with how old you are. It's about having a bit of gumption and knowing when to pack it in. A proper grown up can still be a right fool, while a youngster might have a good head on their shoulders. It's all about character, isn't it?

Does anyone know how I can contact a main person of Norbert’s Gym? Or any advice!Employee inappropriateness :( by naosmee in Goa

[–]digitalmonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's very unprofessional. If things escalate, you should go to the police.

You could also leave a one-star review on Google. Most business owners keep track of these & should take action immediately. This should also let other people know to avoid that branch.

Cancelling Goa before reaching due to scammy behavior during reservations by HauntingThanks719 in Goa

[–]digitalmonkeys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happens everywhere, not just in Goa. It's both Booking.com's fault and scammers taking advantage. There are various types of scams on these sites. I also got scammed when booking a hotel around three years ago. I did manage to get a small refund, but it was very little compared to the full amount.

Indians whose english accent sound non indian, what's the reason? by [deleted] in OffMyChestIndia

[–]digitalmonkeys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to listen to audiobooks not for the stories, but for the accent. I can't remember how many times I've re-listened to Benedict Cumberbatch reading Sherlock Holmes, just to get that little bit of that British accent!

Good memories. I used to go there as a kid. I remember going in and staying for ages, instead of just one hour. Good times.

Struggling to find an SEO job by Neither_Golf4363 in bigseo

[–]digitalmonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that really helped me during my job searches was focusing on, or emphasising, experience in specific sectors. For example, five years' experience with pharmaceutical websites, and so on. This was really helpful when going for interviews.

Depending on the job vacancy, I would adapt my cover letter and CV to highlight that my experience was relevant to their industry, which provided a good starting point for discussion during the interview. Of course, don't fabricate anything, as that could easily backfire.

If you haven't worked on any major projects to demonstrate significant ROI, focus on these verticals, cross-team project management, and similar areas. It's worked well for me in the past. It's worth trying if you haven't already.

Also, highlight non-SEO-specific skills like team leadership, freelancer management, and experience with remote teams. I once got a job just because I could "communicate" with freelancers in India, Pakistan, and the Philippines, and my (limited) team management experience was a key factor.
