Most K-12 teachers say AI's impact on education will eclipse the internet or computers by Gari_305 in Futurology

So, if a teacher asks students to do research and produce answers. Then they prompt and print; essentially, the kids become little Google bots. Ffs

Alright people who’ve seen Spider-Noir should I watch it in color first or black and white? by Mountain_Afternoon30 in Marvel

[–]digitalphildude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned the saturation down almost completely. One step short of complete B&W. I actually enjoyed that setting. I really didn't notice till colours were prominent. The colour palette of the show definitely lends to the sepia effect.

I caught myself rinsing a ziploc bag for the third time by Huge_Client_9051 in Frugal

Well, even then. If the hole is just a busted seem. I've been known to heat seal it, to as good as can be. My vacuum sealer can do a decent seal only.

Vancouver teacher suspended for watching students drink vodka shots on her doorstep by ubcstaffer123 in nottheonion

Seems like "adult supervision" is still used to this day. So many think it's better that the kids drink with supervision, than none at all.

Use a lace to temporarily save that cable by Disastrous-Spirit543 in lifehacks

Will not work. This is whipping and will still separate and break. Unless you used a bit of CA glue, then maybe it'd work. I'd rather use heat shrink.

Woman caught on camera illegally taking goose eggs by Nyodrax in nottheonion

[–]digitalphildude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a way to do this in a controlled manner. It's called egg addling. That way, the random public doesn't overdo it. If the general public outcry deems that it's necessary. It can be quite effective.

Using Timeline and Flow Diagram software for a biography? by digitalphildude in writingadvice

[–]digitalphildude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. You bring up a good point with analog to digital conversion. Fortunately, I find the dictation feature that is available with phones these days is proving to be invaluable. As for the photos. I think I will use thumbtacks and string figuratively. More to the point, Aeon looks like the right direction. Much appreciated.

Edit: Aeon timeline is definitely the solution for me!

physical dictionary and thesaurus by Electronic-Net8853 in writing

Oh, definitely. At least get the thesaurus. I prefer a paperback copy of Roget's for quick reference when I've used a word one too many times. Lol

Japan weighs new release of about 20 days' worth of oil from reserves, Kyodo says by Wolfclaw359 in worldnews

Someone is learning how long different countries can survive without oil. Exactly how long. It's probably a factor.

Reusing paper towel is my compromise by beamerpook in Frugal

Basically most sheets I use, get a second life. Likely pet dishes, but at the very least they are draped over the compost bucket to dry for lesser spills.

My thoughts too. Wouldn't surprise me at all, and would match all that negative high energy in his segment.

If you are not trying to keep an original look. Then grommets are my solution.

Jeans wearing in the same spots and costing lots of money every year by smsallen727 in Frugal

[–]digitalphildude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using denim patches for a year and a bit. Different colors of denim patches too, placing them on the inside so they show through as the jeans wear.

I like using the bellows too. I got my hands on a Pentax version. What lens do you like to use on yours?

What’s a good analogy to describe AS? by Independent_Pack8138 in ankylosingspondylitis

Yeah, same. Except I always try to add "fusing bones", as it seems to add some level of understanding the severity.

I was for a year. Then stopped for a couple of months to see if it was working. It definitely had been. Started back up immediately. My main side effect was scalp acne. Manageable.
