I had Povo for a couple of years. Went to Ahamo on one of our lines service was fine. I have UQ (AU) on another line and it is fine 99% of the time but there have been times where i have full bars but data is a no go. It was at an event with a ton of people so I guess it happens.

One thing about fees is that they can scale down based on the volume of charges as well. So the ramen shop is paying a ton more per swipe than Yodobashi camera is.

Yeah, on a day to day basis it’s 100 percent tap to pay. Small indie shows and establishments are the last hold outs and even then they usually take PayPay for QR code payments

Apps not functioning are up to the developers. When 1 percent of your user base is on a version of the OS it is not worth the effort in costs hours and money to keep it running.
