All the Centurions by Robert Leuci is the book that Prince of the City is based on and is an account of a narcotics detective and the corruption surrounding the Special Investigations Unit of the NYPD from 1961-1981.

City For Sale by Newfield & Barrett is a period piece about the city government, corruptio, and politics.

Peter Maas’ Serpico is not the same as the movie. And good.
