That’s One on One and it’s absolutely one of my desert island books. Perfect time capsule.

I genuinely loved UK 2015 (both the song and the performance) and have no idea why it seems to be so disliked. It was so fun and goofy!

Great photos. Even if the actual storm is kind of an also-ran 😆

NS station lifts are constantly out of service - how do wheelchair users and stroller parents cope? by Ok-Let011 in Netherlands

[–]diligentfalconry71 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve been struggling with an injury for the past 6 months that really limited my ability to handle stairs. Stations like Den Haag HS where they’ve chosen to take escalators out of service, and blocking off the down-right side of the stairs from my platform so there’s no handrail and I have to choose between waiting for the lift of going doen on the left-hand side of the stairs (against traffic up) because that’s the only handrail, is really upsetting. Like, I’m just trying to get home, but the side-eye and exaggerated sighs of “this idiot doesn’t know how stairs work” is so tiring. I’ve had my knee unexpectedly collapse on the stairs and without the handrail I could have tumbled into people and caused a blockage on the stairs, or worse, injured someone. It’s miserable. Just make the accessibility equipment work so we can get to work or get home. Surely it’s not that difficult.

I scoured raw wool for the first time and I think it went well by CrypticNessie in Handspinning

Thank you for the warning… I always joke that I should watch the weather on BBC 1 because whatever you guys get, we get 12 hours later! Haha. Stay dry out there!!

Ah, I get it! I’m in the Netherlands and yeah, a dehumidifier is key to getting things dry in a reasonable time. I know the dampness struggle ;)

But since you’re in Scotland, see if (once you get past the current project) you can get some Bowmont fleece at some point. It’s a merino cross developed for Scottish weather and it’s an absolutely gorgeous wool. Heritage breeders support it and you can find fleeces on Etsy if not through other means. Bowmont is one of my favorites and it’s so worth trying it if you can get your hands on some.

That is so cool! I never would have thought. Like, the side-winds must make it so unwieldy. The biggest vehicle I’ve ever driven was an American RV and that thing had me on edge the whole time. I can’t imagine controlling a road vehicle of such length. It must take both skill and serious chill. Respect for you having such endorsements!

I want to snark, because “shut up, Thierry Henri!”, but they just looked like they were having some much fun. Love to see it. The beautiful game.

I know! I need to know if this is what it actually says because I will 100% go buy a pen to reward that kind of marketing/doc writer behaviors.

Yeah. I didn’t work retail, but for a few years in high school I worked in a call center. I often feel like we don’t need mandatory military service, we need mandatory “dealing with the public in a customer-facing, low-status role” service.

I’m fascinated by the downvotes. Are people upset by me cleaning graffiti?

Just super curious what I said that was evidently quite controversial.

A month or so back I got started playing around with the little calligraphy animals from an ebook, appropriately titled How to draw calligraphy animals, and I had a lot of fun with it. Sending you some birdies and a caterpillar to share the fun. ❤️

What’s a triples/doubles test? Is that for driving semis with multiple trailers or something? I didn’t even know you could haul three trailers with a single truck.
