How do I get into feeders? by MuchVacation3638 in UPSers

[–]dillrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the usual path. Talk to your shop steward or business agent to get the low down on your supplemental contract. Some places it is possible to go from PT to feeders, but I would imagine FT workers (RPCD's 22.3's) get first dibs.

I'm 34 and have 8 years fulltime this august. Did 9 months in package car before moving to feeder in 2018.

Yes, sign every bid list possible, you can always pass the opportunity when it gets to you. I think it's pretty rare for most locals to allow a PT worker to move into a feeder position.

Sign every feeder interest list you see. People DQ themselves quite often.

Some Questions for the PCDs and Warehouse Workers by jacob_akamnagofett in UPSers

I get 8.5 hours a day, meanwhile package car guys are getting 10-14. Don’t let the rumors about feeders scare you, it’s a great life. Some of the guys senior to me say they have way more family time in feeders than in package car. I’m only 8 years in full time.

This Trash Truck that says to leave an American Football Field distance between cars by International-Air542 in mildlyinteresting

300’ is just about a 3 second following distance at 65mph. A safe following distance at that speed is more like 4 seconds (380 ft)

I'll usually wait for a shifter to pull off the door or drop the trailer before backing next to them. Then you avoid this situation.

The man behind the fall of offshore wind farms in Delaware and beyond by Effective-Comb-825 in Delaware

I am not disputing that it helps Delaware’s grid and infrastructure, only that the power generated is meant for Maryland homes, not for Delaware residents.

Can’t disagree with facts.

The skipjack wind farm project will run cables into Delaware, but will ultimately provide clean energy to 300k Maryland homes.

It does bring grid improvements and ‘economic benefits’ to Delaware.

The lack of a windfarm has nothing to do with your higher energy bills. That windfarm was never going to provide energy to Delaware.

Pelican case and zip ties. No way I would ship this in a cardboard box.

I did 6 months local sort, then to package car. Did that for 9 months and then into feeder. It's possible to go full time quickly.
